Combine Salute and Ball Call Command

Considering that you will never salute in the air or call the ball on the deck, I suggest to combine both into a single context sensitive command to simply the control scheme. Saves you one keyboard/HOTAS command.

Another idea I've been mulling over is using either TRIGGER or PICKLE as options for both of these commands.

You wouldn't have any weapon system armed anywhere near the boat anyways (although DCS does have the aircraft armed for airborne starts...but no weapon or gun selected.).

What about the "HARM Target Sequence / RAID / FLIR FOV" select button? Would be less critical than TRIGGER or PICKLE and never in use at takeoff or recovery.

 

Currently I've bound the BALL CALL to IGN R @my Warthog Throttle, what means, that I have to remove my hand from the throttle shortly to send the ball call.

I only fly in VR. What about using the motion controller for mimicking the real salute ? (kind of bringing the controller close to your head; potentially also pulling the trigger, then) The cat launch is flown hands-off in the real world, anyhow. Anybody else, likes this idea ?

I bound "Call the ball" to the Space key So, when flying in VR i just move my hand from the Hotas for a brief second and press Space on the keyboard near the Hotas. First i was wondering about binding it to one of my hotas buttons but i need them all for critical systems. Not the best but it´s what i have.

I can see some problems with making it context sensitive only, so I'd rather they just add an extra keybind for it, instead of removing the current ones. So you'd have Salute, Ball call and Salute/Ball call keybinds. Everyone's happy.
