TacticalError
I have had this problem for a while. Basically depending on the time of year there will be a color reflected on the bottom of your aircraft, canopy and hud. In spring the color is green-ish, in summer it is yellow, autumn it's orange-ish and in the winter it's white. Here is a picture of the bottom color in the default time set in Mission Editor (Summer): This issue is also present when flying low altitude, when over water the issue goes away shown here in this video: The issue shown in the video is also there in the first image. The issue can be resolved when you are sitting on ground, you need to zoom out in the F2 view then go back in. However, this does not work for flying low altitude. Here are my graphic settings and special options for the F-16:
pimp
Try disabling the Cockpit Global Illumination setting. i9 9900k @5.1GHz NZXT Kraken |Asus ROG Strix Z390 E-Gaming | Samsung NVMe m.2 970 Evo 1TB | LPX 64GB DDR4 3200MHz EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra | Reverb G1 | HOTAS Warthog | Saitek Flight Pedals
Cgjunk2
This seems to me like it’s on purpose, with the colors generally reflecting the tone of the ground being lit up by the sun. Sometimes I notice the color tones change slightly depending on the terrain. The only problem is that sometime, like in the hangar, it applies the color cast in situations where it doesn’t make sense (or at least it seems too intense). I like the idea of the aircraft being “lit up” by reflected light from the ground, it just seems like its a low resolution function right now. Maybe that’s to save processing power. Art-J
@Tactical Error - It's been like that throughout the whole sim since the introduction of deferred shading. Part of intended implementation of fully dynamic lighting it seems, although the fact that light shines through the bottom of the fuselage into the cockpit, illuminating some parts it shouldn't, has been a neverending problem. At least the planes have been slowly tweaked over last two years to make it less apparent - though it differs from module to module. Warbird cockpits for example used to be pretty bad, but for the most part are quite good nowadays. I don't own F-16, but I'm sure it will receive similar tweaks someday as well. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10. TacticalError
It seems for example, the Tomcat does not have any of this. I would like to see a graphic option to completely disable this, since I find it pretty annoying. Edit: It seems the tomcats cauges have this issue. Also the F/A-18 doesn't have this issue in the cockpit, but still has this in the bottom of the aircraft.
