We are continuing to improve the map. Updated coastlines to support new DCS technologies.  State borders and demarcation zones have been worked out, including under the protection of UN troops.

Fantastic news about the updates, and in particular about the optimisations too! I love this map as well, and have been flying it most frequently. As others have said, it has many different types of terrain and delivers an experience of what have been happening these past six years or so. Looking forward to this update - and also of course the addition of Cyprus to the theatre of operations.

We have always tried to make the map interesting. For this, more than 200 original objects and more than 100 historical structures have been made. We also tried to make the map a challenge for free-flying master pilots.
After work, our developers had some fun. (Do you remember their epic helicopter landing at the stadium? 🚁 (We signed the coordinates of the objects, some of them you will see soon)

Can you convert the AN/MPN-25 on a AI unit and send to ED to convert them on a funtional EW radar to deploy on airports and airstrips?

I've posted this before, and I have never received an answer. Are we going to get different seasonal textures for this map, ever? The mountains in Lebanon in winter are especially famous for their snowy caps.

@MAESTR0 Hi my friend, i just saw your reply about wishes and airbases for future of syria map, may i ask you one simple question and want simple yes-no answer from you. Is there any plan to include Diyarbakir airport in Turkey in the future?

Its not in the list I've seen, or thats been announced.

@MAESTR0thank you for your answer, i wanted to know becouse we are working on long campaign for that map and it was planned to take part in that region but we will use incirlik than as a main base. We would be more than thankful if you could tell us what other baeses are planed in Turkey so we can work on scenario and story before it come online.

While I'd love to see basically any new RADARs, isn't this basically just an ASR? With PAR and SSR? Because basically none of those things are functional in DCS and it would require an AI overhaul for it to have a practical use.

 

Not saying no, I just think that right now it's a poor fit.

 

Right back on topic - everything I'm seeing here looks absolutely fantastic, I'm definitely going to have to update my system so I can get more use out of this map.

Oh yeah absolutely, and while I could get some more RAM for this thing, I'm still stuck with a mobile GTX 1050Ti MaxQ (essentially optimised for efficiency not performance) which I think only has 4GB of VRAM,

 

With my SSD, I replaced the old one with a faster one with double the storage, but this thing doesn't have a second M.2 or SATA slot (well in the case of the latter, not without changing my battery for a smaller one).

 

I really need to sort myself out with a decent desktop - it's just a bit too expensive for me right now.

Syria is currently the best map in DCS World, by a huge amount.

 

The new technologies used to create such a detailed terrrain really show. The mountains now get actual rock formations with great texture detail.

 

While I'm not much of a fan of another mostly desert environment, the Syria map is still my favorite of all!

@MAESTR0 Awesome work guys!!! We love those small details and custom buildings. Even the tower at Nicosia (which is fairly new, construction was done a few months ago) is modelled at a great detail. 

 

And Pentadaktylos mountain range in the background looks very accurate as well.

 

Looking forward to see how the rest of the island turned out.
