Nealius Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 I noticed something peculiar recently. That is, the metashaders2 folder no longer populates with files. The fxo folder still does, and if I delete the metashaders2 folder it is rebuilt, however no files are ever populated there any more. Is this intended behavior?
unknown Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 I tried it right now. Deleted fxo and metashaders2 folders. - restart and exit DCS -> new fxo and metashaders2 folders with files in fxo but empty metashaders2 folder - restart DCS and load a mission -> files in metashaders2 folder Modules: KA-50, A-10C, FC3, UH-1H, MI-8MTV2, CA, MIG-21bis, FW-190D9, Bf-109K4, F-86F, MIG-15bis, M-2000C, SA342 Gazelle, AJS-37 Viggen, F/A-18C, F-14, C-101, FW-190A8, F-16C, F-5E, JF-17, SC, Mi-24P Hind, AH-64D Apache, Mirage F1, F-4E Phantom II System: Win 11 Pro 64bit, Ryzen 3800X, 32gb RAM DDR4-3200, PowerColor Radeon RX 6900XT Red Devil ,1 x Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 2TB NVMe, 2 x Samsung SSD 2TB + 1TB SATA, MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals - VIRPIL T-50CM and VIRPIL MongoosT-50 Throttle - HP Reverg G2, using only the latest Open Beta, DCS settings
Nealius Posted July 11, 2020 Author Posted July 11, 2020 I flew multiplayer in VR --> fxo populated files metashaders2 did not populate files Replay track in 2D --> fxo populated files metashaders2 did not populate files Fly SP Instant Action --> both fxo and metashaders2 populated files Why is multiplayer and replay tracks not populating the metashaders2 folder?
Lurker Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Sorry to necro the thread, but I've just noticed it as well. Empty Metashaders folder. Specs: Win10, i5-13600KF, 32GB DDR4 RAM 3200XMP, 1 TB M2 NVMe SSD, KFA2 RTX3090, VR G2 Headset, Warthog Throttle+Saitek Pedals+MSFFB2 Joystick.
Flappie Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 (edited) The "metashaders" folder is no more used since quite a long time. You can delete it. The "metashaders2" folder is still used. If emptied, it gets populated as soon as you start a mission (any mission). To test this, simply rename you "metashaders2" folder into some other name, such as "metashaders2_backup".
