I noticed something peculiar recently. That is, the metashaders2 folder no longer populates with files. The fxo folder still does, and if I delete the metashaders2 folder it is rebuilt, however no files are ever populated there any more. Is this intended behavior?

I tried it right now.

Deleted fxo and metashaders2 folders.

- restart and exit DCS -> new fxo and metashaders2 folders with files in fxo but empty metashaders2 folder

- restart DCS and load a mission -> files in metashaders2 folder

I flew multiplayer in VR --> fxo populated files metashaders2 did not populate files

Replay track in 2D --> fxo populated files metashaders2 did not populate files

Fly SP Instant Action --> both fxo and metashaders2 populated files

Why is multiplayer and replay tracks not populating the metashaders2 folder?

Sorry to necro the thread, but I've just noticed it as well. Empty Metashaders folder.

The "metashaders" folder is no more used since quite a long time. You can delete it.

The "metashaders2" folder is still used. If emptied, it gets populated as soon as you start a mission (any mission). To test this, simply rename you "metashaders2" folder into some other name, such as "metashaders2_backup".
