This 600x500 km map covers much of the eastern Mediterranean and includes most of Syria, Israel, and Lebanon. Areas of Turkey and Jordan are also included. Major cities like Damascus, Tripoli (Lebanon), Latakia, Tartus, Homs, Aleppo, Hamah, Palmyra, Haifa, Acre, Beirut, and Incirlik/Adana are created in detail with hundreds of unique landmarks. The geography is varied with a temperate western coastline, mountains and an arid desert landscape to the east of the landform.

 

Since the times of Ancient Egypt, Rome and the Ottoman Empire, large-scale wars were fought across these lands. Thousands of years ago these battles were fought with swords, spears and arrows, today these areas have become the theatres of grandiose mechanical warfare. In the 20th and 21st centuries, this map is home to the many conflicts including the 6 Day War, the 1982 Lebanon War, air operations over the Bekaa Valley, and the most recent operations against Isis.

 

With such a wide range of historic locations, airfields and targets, mission options are almost endless; all set in the most stunning and scenic environment ever made for DCS World.

The way it stands now ED could someday link the Syria, Caucasus & Persian Gulf Maps(as these are just adjacent to each other) in one large theatre.

 

I know it is just wishful thinking, but maybe someday..... :)

I mean meteorological (end of of August) or astronomical (second half of September? Northern hemisphere?

Glowing AMRAAM is great, but I would’ve wished for more shots showing off the map instead of the planes and helis. Yeah people need to see what they can do, the first part showed a lot of great landmarks then it was just close up close up close up on planes rockets and bombs.

 

That being said can’t wakt for it to release!

That is exactly the reason why I asked.

Now, reading further comments I see "hope" also mentioned.

 

Those are all comments only. I was expecting to see estimated release window mentioned via the official product page that is the offer, right. I mean it has the price tag, so it should have the delivery as well, no?

 

I waited for SC, ordering it the first moment it was available, then waiting even more for it I gifted another license purchase to a stranger.

 

I will wait in anticipation for EA and will get it as soon as it drops.

 

But saying how much and not saying when, should not be treated as good practice, or should it?

In the past, when videos started to appear in the same frequency they pop up now, it's always been fairly close to release. That's certainly not a guarantee, but with everything we've seem from the map, personally I'm perfectly confident that it'll come out in a timeline manner and I have no problem pre-purchasing.

 

Now if you managed to nail ED to a specific date and they (or Ugra) couldn't meet it - the map would come later, and you wouldn't gain anything.

 

If you feel that the pre-purchase should come with a fixed release date, the easiest solution seems to be not to pre-purchase. That way you'll know when it's out, and you'll also be able to judge the actual map quality from what others write here on the forum and post on YouTube and so on.

 

TL;DR

 

As it stands ED know better than to promise release dates they're uncertain they can keep. Feel free to ask, but it sounds like pre-purchase just isn't for you in this case.
