Community A-4E Skyhawk Missions

Recommended Posts

I liked this mission very much, I'm still very new to the A-4E and still was able to fly and enjoy the challenge of bombing a well defended target with an aircraft that doesn't have CCIP or Combat Computer ... looking forward to more missions on this Series

Thanks for sharing it, and maybe it would be worthwhile to put a link to this thread, on the Mission description, so that players may comment on it here or report eventual bugs.

Hey guys, the mission includes an in-game scoring system. If you do try the mission, why not post a screen shot of your results here.

Nice Mission, not complicated yet challenging .. this was my best result out of a dozen sorties

The second mission in the series - Bridge Attack is up!

 here is the link to the mission file: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3311637/

I've enjoyed this mission, it isn't complicated but the bridges are pretty small so the bombing precision needed is a challenge .. so far I've been able to destroy either bridge, but not both:

Here are some pics from my attempts:

looking forward to the next one :smartass:

Cheers!

Go Get Yourself a Convoy!

Mission 3- Looks Like We Got Ourselves a Convoy is out.

Get it here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3311719/

Also, here's a video of Rudel_chw playtesting the mission. Note that this video is not of the final mission. We made a few changes after he flew - mainly we made it a few minutes later so the final version is a bit darker. I also fixed the bug in the scoring (did you catch it?).

Also, the final version has an option for the player to ask for a smoke marker to find the target. It can be a bit tough to see the first couple of times you go looking for it.

Mission 4 Available

Hi All,

The fourth mission - Iron Hand - is now up on the user files site.

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3311948/

The main mission in this one is pretty easy (if you fly the assigned route), but getting any of the launchers with your rockets will test your ability to avoid low level AAA fire.

It CAN be done though as this video attests.

Hi guys, vary happy about the new map and here is the Golan_Commander. Battle for the Golan heights for 1-4 Skyhawk pilots. A scripted horde mode where you can manage you defense troops and call reserves for tactical points. It's a tough mission, alone you have to be very very good, better fly it with friends.

It says I need mod 467vFG Targets by Noodle & Stuka

Yes, it’s an important omission and I’m sure that Sidekick will amend the mission instructions to mention how to get that Mod. You can download the Mod from this link:

http://www.476vfightergroup.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=287

It is a well known mod, but if you are new to DCS then please ask a knowledgeable friend to help you install it.

Ok downloaded Mod installed 476RangeTargets here

F:\Mat Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\tech

Still getting the same message. Don't know what is going wrong.

I did notice a zip file inside 476RangeTargets under Textures called Range_Target.zip

I have never seen that file structure before.

On my PC, the Mod folder is on this path and looks like this:

Please note that I rename my Mods main folders to honor the nickname of their creators, so yours most likely are a bit different on the names.

Iron Bombing Range Mission

A few people asked if I could produce a mission with the range that I have used in a few of my videos. With Rudel's help I have put together this mission file: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3312663/

It implements Ciribob's range scoring script

It also has a "SAM Exclusion Zone" feature that, when invoked from the comms menu, will limit the amount of time you can spend above 500' when within 10nm of the target.

It comes with preset configurations for the A-4E, the AV8B and the A-10c II.

Here is a quick video showing some of the features of the range.

Enjoy!
