Cost of upgrading A10C

FW190

Well, the big question is... if we don't upgrade, will the legacy A10C still be maintained? For example, if the change in the core breaks some things in the legacy A10C, will it be patched?

Yes of course. It will still be part of the new upgrade package and will need to be maintained for that.

Nineline........You didn't answer my question. Will the new plane be in a released state or EA?

I don't have info on that, I am sure there will be a small amount of EA, how much will be done or left to do I don't know, its not as complex as a full new module from the ground up. We will make sure it has missions, in some cases the old ones can be made to work, but for the sake of new features, I think some new missions will be needed.

Certainly some new training missions, at the very least for the new features.

It shouldn't be too much to ask for a revitalization of the whole module's side-stuff, updated and a few category-missing single missions, updated instant action missions, updated training missions so they don't get stuck and built with newer version of the ME and at least one traditional campaign that could be done by a third party.

Doesn't need to be for the early access, but the campaign could come with the release version.

I don't yet see why updated old missions just wouldn't work with the new A-10C, couldn't one just use the same loadout and play it as if you had the older A-10C? I'm probably missing something.

Ofcourse, balancing this with the "dynamic campaign" in mind, so that not too much of resources and effort is spent, but I don't want the "dynamic campaign" to be a total replacement for the base level stuff, sometimes you do want the mission to follow a script, especially for training purposes. Some missions could in the future be converted to "dynamic" mode, or even some hybrid functionality to enable and disable prior starting play, but that's out of the A-10C scope right now so I'm not going to dig into this deeper here.

This answer seems to clarify all the matter: the current a-10c will be part of the a-10c II package, so we'll have two versions. All the previous missions and campaigns do not need to be updated since they are meant to be played with the current a-10c suite. What the updated cockpit graphics for free was supposed to be for otherwise?

Hi:

Years ago I bought the A-10C and the FC3 on the ED page, currently I have the rest of the Products purchased on Steam. I will also buy the A-10C II on Steam, the question is ... If the upgrade discount would be extended? ... Greetings

  • 2 weeks later...

Deep discount = Nice.

And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.

Actually with COVID now they have changed it to sharing isn't caring now.

Just put a face mask on the package when you send it to me then. All will be good. Seriously though, sounds like a pretty sweet upgrade and a lot of work has gone into it. What's another few $$ on top of what I already have eh?!

With a price tag of just $9.99 for the upgrade you'll have to be nuts not to take this up and purchase it! Considering all the work that has gone into it, plus the added advantage of all those new systems and weapons, the upgrade price tag is VERY reasonable IMHO. I was expecting it to be much more.

As for the full purchase price tag of $79.99 this, I think, is also a fully justifiable price for what is the most advanced DCS module to date. I think with these extra systems on top of all the other stuff in the module it puts it in serious competition to the F18 in regards systems modelling and detail, at least for now anyway.

You’ll be missing out, if they model half of what HMCS can do it’ll be a game changer.

^THIS ^

HMCS will turn the Hog into a lethal and very capable CAS aircraft. This one additional system alone is worth the upgrade 100% IMHO.

a $9.99 upgrade price is a literal STEAL for what you are getting, this upgrade should be a no-brainer for any active A-10C user

Yup, absolutely. It really is a bargain.

I'm like a kid at Christmas, can't wait for the release! I have a long time passion for CAS, and the Hog was the first DCS module I purchased. It's great to see that ED are still passionate about one of their first products, and bringing it up to date with more modern systems and weapons. This new Hog will keep me happy for a very long time.

Great job ED!

Uhh I took the 9.99 as a wee bit of sass, to a obstreperous position regarding upgrade costs.

This is legit?

Lets be clear, this is the same cost as a 24 ounce cup of sugary Frap Crap at (rhymes with) FiveBucks.

If you are too cheap to get an A-10CII for the cost of a cup of Frap, or a Bucket of Buttered Popcorn at a movie theater . . .
