I'd love to see Scandinavia after Syria is finished. Pretty much the same map we had in EF2000 back in the mid 90's, bombing barrages at the russian border was so much fun. I think that map would perfectly suit for WW2, cold war and modern warfare at the same time and would also provide enough waters for some nice carrier operations...

The gap between new Syria map and old Caucasus is not too big.

They modeled pretty much far to the north and east of Adana in Turkey, I flew there once for about 30 minutes and still saw landscape under my wings. I think I ended up near the Demirkazik Tepe mountain, but wasn't enough for turning to east due to bingo fuel.

In the east the map most probably reaches until Elazig, which is about 400 km south-west of of Batumi. Hm ...

I would love this too, and look forward to the day it can happen...

...but I think we'll have to wait about 5 years for tech to catch up.

DCS Syria map is 500 km wide and 600 km tall. 300,000 square KM's

The DID EF2000 map is about 1500 km wide. It's about 1600 km tall. 2,400,000 square KM's

Thats 8 times as much data/area

So yea...

BUT, when our calculatrons can crunch those file sizes, yea, I'd LOVE to see that area and fly the Norwegian skies!! :pilotfly:

My votes would be GIUK gap, Kola Peninsula, Fulda gap and the Korean Peninsula. Aegean could be interesting, as could Panama.

Marianas (Modern first, WW2 next) coming by ED, and Fanklans \ Malvinas by RAZBAM. Ugra Media has plans to add Chiprus to Syria map, and next project has not defined yet.

I mean...perhaps this is a little too "on the nose" but a 38th Parallel map would be great! not to try and make DCS compare even closer to any other particular flight sim  But a none discriminant 38th parallel map would be great.

My question would be what would people prefer? A 1980s-Modern Day Korean 38th Parallel map or a 1950-54 map?

TL : DR, whos more happy to compromise here? I would prefer a more modern map and compromise when flying Korean war jets because I fly more modern planes...but who knows...if we got a accurate 1950s Korean map perhaps I'd be willing to compromise Modern missions for more 1950s accuracy when I want to fly my Sabre or the Mig.
