FoxTwo Posted August 27, 2020 Share Posted August 27, 2020 My loadout for Mission 12 was 5 AIM-120Cs and 1 AIM-120B, in addition to the bags and AIM-9s. Just a little odd to have the 1 random B on the right cheek station. I was perhaps a little over zealous with missile employment and was winchester but Knight just asked me for my fuel state. I reported Joker and Knight proceeded as if I was going to be tasked with interception of the F-14As however that problem cleared itself up since they just turned and ran. Since my wingman only had two AIM-9s left I was just expecting Knight to tell us to RTB but he was about ready to send us in until the F-14s turned tail. Also the script reported grandslam with zero hits on rainforest/downed all SU-24s and two MIG-29s, score was 330 but mission result was 50? The result was just a little confusing. After that I told Knight "Tiger" and got sent for a new group that was inbound. I had trouble finding that group and when I eventually did they were just cruising along to the east inside iranian airspace. 2 F14. I went after them and shot them down with my gun. The didn´t even flinch. Just continued to cruise along although they were attacked. All communication ceased after knight sent me towards them. No F10 menu either. We destroyed strike group and escort (1 Fulcrum managed to escape), then Knight asked about our fuel state: my was ~ 10.0 and Blade reported about 8.0 iirc (but when I checked him on SA page this liar had only ~ 5.0), so I replied Tiger, got direction from Knight and commited for 2x F-14. The problem was they didn't turn Hot on me and when I was close to Iranian territory I had to turn back. Then I turned to the Tomcats one more time (looks like wingman started doing his own business around that time and I suspect he was really low on fuel), went into Iran and destroyed both F-14 who peacefully flew along the coast to the East with absolutely no reaction from their side. Then I returned back to the WP1 and finally land to the Carrier (still had a plenty of fuel, so decided to skip AAR this time). After getting direction to the Tomcats there were no communication from Knight at all. At the end of the mission my score was 380 and results where 80 (or vise versa) and I was able to proceed to the next mission with no issues. You aren’t supposed to shoot them. Yeah, there were no Phoenixes launches at us at all too. Didn't have the problem with scoring though. I feel your pain man :( Forgot to mention that Iran's Fulcrums escorting strike group shot at us first and then after destroying strike group and getting direction to the Tomcats I was light and therefore relatively high: 27k - 33k feet. Could it affect some trigger? Just FYI. No missiles were fired on me by the F14s after announcing TIGER and then nothing happened for quite a while. I decided to just go back to the back and finish the mission and progress, which worked.
