I use another sim for my propeller flying! More of the non-interwar designs actually saw combat as well - so I'd feel a stronger need to break things down by specific theatres/time-periods and variants. 22 hours ago, MAXsenna said: Now that Sweden is part of NATO, maybe the list needs a little update? Sweden was a well armed neutral when the designs listed were in service. 22 hours ago, MAXsenna said: This is actually funny now we know both Rafale and Fat Amy are incoming. So is the F-117 rumour has it. True! I may have to update this list soon! Edited 4 hours ago by Avimimus

I guess I get a little confused, as it seems to me what you call "Western" actually is NATO, since you on the other hand name the Warszaw Pact. But I guess the list would could get very messy since the Draken was also used by Denmark (and Austria), and I'm pretty sure that both Swedes and Austrians will take offence by being called non-Westerns. As for the Gripen, it's in use by three NATO countries now. Don't get me wrong, I find the list very interesting!

However, it gets political in other ways - where does Western Europe begin? Where does Eastern Europe end? Is there a Central Europe? What of countries which have joined NATO more recently? A lot of Polish people are quite proud of some Warsaw era aircraft of theirs, but would also identify with NATO today... then there is the question of whether Europe is a continent...? I'll give it a bit of a think though! I've updated the OP with an additional list showing a few 4th/5th generation designs.

South/North/Central has no meaning in this context, only if one talks about Europe. Which is a moon BTW. (Or a daughter if memory serves me right). West vs. East bloc is of course the old historical context. I'm a Cold War product myself. Hehe, it's complicated no matter what, even if you make more devisions like pre/post CW.
