I'm firing @ 10, 8, and 6km and the only time I can see the flare the entire time is 4-5km or less. Anything beyond is impossible cause the missile is functionally invisible. I'm wondering if non-vr users are seeing something similar. In VR, it feels like after 4-5km, the LOD on the flare light cuts out and doesn't render cause I see a sharp and noticeable drop in brightness instead of a smooth dimming of the flare with distance. How far can a normal viggen pilot see the flare? I don't know how realistic the procedure of firing at 10km is if the missile is imperceivable halfway through the attack. TOViper Posted September 24, 2020 Share Posted September 24, 2020 (edited) I tested this with the newest update, and I have to say the Rb-05 is not usable for targets that are more than 4km away, I simply cannot see the flare then.
