Biga42 Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 I set a tanker KC135 to orbit at 18000 ft and at 160knts, but in the mission it is at 240knts which is impossible to A10-C to refuel. I tried 200, 180 knts but does not change what am I doing wrong and how to solve this. thanks!
NoJoy Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 Have you set speed and height in the advanced waypoint settings also? Brrrrrrrrrrrt I'd rather call in a Strike Eagle... Biga42 Posted September 30, 2020 Author Posted September 30, 2020 Yes I did, and I realized that if insert a velocity that the tanker cant sustain altitude for instance, 140knts it changes to a higher velocity. so trick is not to lower the velocity but keep it in a reasonable speed.
Jagohu Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 Keep in mind that it's not IAS(Indicated Airspeed), but GS (Ground Speed) you assign - a KC135 can't fly at 160 kts GS (around 120 kts) at 18.000 ft. When you look at your tanker from the external view (F2) you'll see his IAS I think. Anyway, give it at least 250 kts GS in my opinion or fly up there with you A-10C and check your GS as a reference.
