Hello all!

I've made several user profiles and diagrams and I have a question for you regarding my A10C and A10C II profiles and HOTAS diagrams (links at bottom).

There are times when I deliberately exclude a HOTAS "cluster".

For example, if you take a look at the A10C II vertical diagram, the HUD and TAD clusters do not contain any mention of the Boat Switch commands. And in the horizontal diagram, the HUD row does not contain the Boat Switch commands, but instead, a "Key" for how to interpret the layout. These omissions are even more aggressive with the A10C.

I do this for two reasons:

1. To save space and keep things legible. This particularly comes into play whenever I overlay the vertical HOTAS diagram onto the "combo" controls for the A10C I and II. The "taller" the vertical diagram becomes, the smaller the text becomes on the page when fitting it into the "combo".

2. Personal preference. I rarely, if ever, find myself wanting to use, say, the Boat Switch when I'm interacting with the HUD or TAD so for personal reasons, I leave off the "clutter".

So what are your thoughts? Does this bother you? Would you rather the full enchilada regardless of legibility concerns? (The vertical HOTAS chart would require two more rows, making the text roughly 20% smaller).

I'll take any feedback into consideration for future updates.

Thanks!

I am using your second profile as I like to have the HMCS in the list as well as the boat switch. The only change that I made was for china hat long "slave TGP to SPI" I think that is the correct command.

Hello @sobe!

Mind I run this by your real quick, make sure I'm seeing what you're seeing?

Looking at the chart in the manual, it indicates

China Hat Fwd Long = Slave all to SPI

China Hat Aft Long = Slave TGP to current steerpoint

Which, if I'm looking at it correctly, is how it is designated in the HOTAS diagram...

Is that how you're seeing it, @sobe?

If I'm not interpreting it properly, please let me know! That's part of the reason why I made the charts in the first place all these years ago is because I found the official chart so confusing! ha

Thank you all for the feedback!

Since there is an interest in having the "full" list, I will see if I can create a long version to give people that option if they prefer. Just trying to get the maintenance kinks figured out right now so I'm not having to create/edit so many custom layouts by hand.

For now, I've kept the vertical layout "trimmed" with the Boat Switch commands isolated to the relevant SOI's.

I was able to squeeze in the COOLIE controls in the latest version, though, so that's a plus!
