P-47D 56th FG Mega Pack

Reflected

Recommended Posts

My 56th FG campaign is coming along nicely, and I made quite a few generic skins for it using Warlord’s excellent template. I thought I’d share them with you fellow Thunderbolt fans.

They all have variable side numbers and serials, so you’ll need to set the correct letters in the mission editor or the rearm window.

61st FS: HV+your letter

62nd FS: LM+your letter

63rd FS: UN+your letter

The previews look great. Can't download and test the skins today - I reckon they work only with D-30 "early"? I think there were some mapping issues between that one and both later variants.

i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

Top job as usual Reflected.

Nice to see the sheen on the painted aircraft as the 56th waxed their aircraft to improve speed.

My only nit pick (and it is a nit pick, sorry) would be the two tone grey aircraft, the 56th did not use this scheme.

It has been long associated with Capt Donovan Smiths "Ole Cock III", but this was because of misinterpretations of the B&W photos of that aircraft, which actually used the RAF Green, RAF Ocean Grey and RAF Medium Sea Grey colours, like Gabreski and Schillings aircraft.

Its a pity because the two tone grey scheme does look cool.

I look forward to your 56th campaign.
