How are people using the new forum for 'new posts' since last visit?

I was just wondering how people are currently using the new forum to view the latest activity / posts?

I'm having a hard time navigating just trying to figure out how I can 'keep up' with the posts that have been made since my last visit.

The 'latest activity' only shows me the last 30 posts at maximum (if I click on 'show more' until it is no longer an option) and RSS feed only gives me the latest 10 topics. Short of clicking into every single sub-forum and scanning every single post noting the date/time stamp since my last visit I can't see how this can be achieved and was wondering how other people are currently managing it? (I'm trying to figure out what I'm missing - I must be dumb).

Just really keen to know what work-arounds users have come up with.

The closest thing that I have gotten is this (see pic).

If you don't do step 4, the posts that pop up are the titles of the threads that have have new posts in them, rather than the posts themselves.

It's super weird and I wish there was an easier way. I am using a RSS reader to try to keep up. Unfortunately I believe that the RSS only catches newly made posts. Check out the thread in the pic for more info, coincidently.

Hey, just back with more info. The Filter options are not saved. And I see that you can only view "more posts" two or three times. Bummer.

This search link is the closest to the "new posts" button on the old forum. It's slow to search and haven't found a way to control the number of posts per page, but better than nothing. Saves you from clicking through advanced search options every time

I use the advanced search with the following attributes:

- Date Range: From [date of last visit] or "last visit" checkbox (the checkbox doesn't seem to work reliably though)

- Sort by: "date - last update"

- View: "Topics"

This gives me pretty much the same results in pretty much the same way as the old new posts button of the old forum.

It's pretty cumbersome to work with though, compared to the old button. :(

Just noticed that too! There are also some other buttons with slightly different functionality. Thanks a lot ED!

Now if only the search times would improve, as they are muuuuuuch slower than they were on the old forum.

Was annoyed about missing "New Posts" feature that was my 70/100 used feature. And happy to find today we have something better even returned to us.
