chromium
Here we are again, today ED is updating DCS World to 2.7 and we're ready (Almost). Usually I extensively test a build before releasing to public, but this time I'm making a different move: since there are some betatesters of DCS World in our tester's group, I've been able to work on DSMC 1.2 and new clouds preset few weeks ago. So I decided to make this "advanced beta" built, almost a release candidate, public today in parallel with DCS World 2.7. I don't expect any game-breaking bug or similar, but I still warn you to pay attention and in any case of issues, please report to me in DSMC discord channel. Here's a small changelog from 1.1.0 to 1.2.0: -> DSMC 1.2 is compatibile with DCS World 2.7 -> Revised randomized weather system to work with new clouds preset (within its limitation) -> Added new options for dedicated server version, like ability to create helicopters slot for one coalition only, a new start time update option (current real world date, same start time), option to make DSMC close DCS at a given specific real world time, and more! -> Added inbuilt version of CSAR script by Ciribob with integrated setup automation. BE ADVISED: no slot blocking or life counts feature is supported: only tasking for CSAR missions. Require inbuilt version of CTLD to be enabled -> if inbuilt version of CTLD is active and you forget to add "beacon" sound files, DSMC will provide it automatically at first save -> BETA: added a beta version of an automatic restart script that allow a 24h/7 days servers to run w/o additional components. BEWARE: this support only one instance of server and will kill any other "DCS.exe" process active if present, also, it's reported as not working for everyone -> Fixed some minor bugs and one major one: now it's possibile to have mission with start date before 1/1/1970. That was limited by some windows time calculation functions, that is removed with this built. So, have a nice sortie! PS additional minor version as 1.2.1 and 1.2.2 are already planned to ensure compatibility with coming helos modules like Kiowa and Mi-24P 1 1 Author of DSMC, mod to enable scenario persistency and save updated miz file Stable version & site: https://dsmcfordcs.wordpress.com/ Openbeta: https://github.com/Chromium18/DSMC The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. chromium
Small update: while there's a working 1.2.2 version on gitHub and available for everyone (check sign), I'm not releasing it yet as "public stable" cause I'm doing a mission designer manual update to better describe each options and its limitation. This is going to take time, but it will be a valuable add-on. In the meantime, some code-tuning to better fit the mod behaviour with WWII is being added. 1 Author of DSMC, mod to enable scenario persistency and save updated miz file Stable version & site: https://dsmcfordcs.wordpress.com/ Openbeta: https://github.com/Chromium18/DSMC The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. Dangerzone
Have given this a try on 2.7.2 and have noticed that the .miz file generated is about 40% smaller than the original file - if I do something and then exit (so theoretically not much has changed). My mission is heavily scripted - so before I start going through everything I was just wanting to check if this may be a normal thing and DSMC is simply more efficient with it's MIZ files, or whether there may be things not going across to the new mission? And also - thanks for all your hard work - it's really appreciated!

Dangerzone
Thanks for your reply! Yes - I'm running 1.2.2. I've opened up the DSMC created file and can't see any obvious things standing out to me that are missing at this stage, just strange that the file size is so much smaller. I'll let you know if I find anything. Oh - also I noticed that the Hind's F10 menu for DSMC didn't bring up any CSAR options - I needed to spawn in a UH-1 for that. Just wondering if there's any changes I need to make there, or if that is still coming? (Or if that's indication that what I think is 1.2.2 isn't) Edited July 9, 2021 by Dangerzone

chromium
Hello everyone! just to let you know that DSMC 1.2.2 is now live and available for download. This new version comes with some feature updates and a completely rewritten manuals to better understand the mod content and features. Some of the new features are: – entirely re-written manuals; – now with mission that starts with date before 1960 deliverable crates will be aligned for that date regarding what can be built and what not; – completely revised sam category. Now you can build whathever available in the countries present in the coalition with timeframe limitation (i.e. if Ukraine is blue, you will also have BUK. If you have only US, you wont have Hawk cause it’s out since 1994, but if you have Germany… you will have Hawk also. What is available in a certain timeframe is defined using the same DCS database); – reworked CTLD menù to make possibile having a lot more options about what can be build with crates; – spawned soldiers model now will be aligned with the country and the timeframe. For scenery before 1960, wwii soldiers will be used. Il 9/7/2021 at 02:32, Dangerzone ha scritto: Thanks for your reply! Yes - I'm running 1.2.2. I'm working on something big and this script is exactly what I need, however, my server runs on ED's dedicated ones. Knowing how the script works, I'm not sure if it does work on a dedicated server, or does it? chromium
If you're the one who is setting up the scenario, you really want to check the mission designer manual to get the most out of DSMC, at least those chapters that are related on what you want to track from a mission to another (DSMC let you decice a lot about this). The most difficult thing using DSMC is not really about DSMC... (it's almost plug & play): it's about the fact that since DCS never took into account the "save", mission designers are not used to evaluate the fact that anything happens is going to be tracked unless you tell the mod to do different. In particoular, I suggest you to read mission design guidelines and check anything about spawning and, if you're interested in resource tracking, the warehouse management chapter. A good designed scenario could live on its own for many mission without mission designer actions with full persitence. If you have direct questions, I suggest to join the DSMC discord (there are almost 200 users there). chromium
Update on stable version for DCS 2.7.6: no compatibility issues, but mostly to add Mosquito and S-200 SAM system. This update also include all the previous openbeta addition. - for modern scenarios, Rapier, NASAMS, S-200 and other modern SAM system are being added as SAM templates. What will be available depends on what DCS will employ at the date of 1.2.2 release. - Ready WWII features of CTLD, with proper soldiers, crates and FOB layout when the mission starts before 1960 - now mission list on server might be compatible with a mix of DSMC & non-DSMC mission. For sure, added some check to prevent crashes when a DSMC mission is loaded before a non-DSMC mission without restarting the server. - added Mosquito as client airplane for slots & other features - new auto-restart code thanks to @AlpineBlueStudios in beta testing - weather data set for Marianas map has been added - added F10 option to manually ask a CSAR call (will work only before Eject or critically damaged aircraft) Manuals has been updated, please check it. Important note: to allow mission list update for 24/7 is mandatory that the mission list is made by only one mission. When using DSMC in server mode, it will automatically delete all other missions in the list to place only the DSMC saved miz in the list. Remember: openbeta version, available on githHub is updated without notice here and it's necessary to log in the discord server to have news about it. Openbeta updates are way more frequent and, when necessary, aligned with DCS releases. chromium
In that case, you can't. There's no option to remove it from the local server with graphics mode. Consider that the server mode is active also when your host PC is using "nographic" and "server" options mode. But if you use a standard DCS to host people, you are inside the "single player" mode so the only options you can customize are those from game options menù.
