Rhinozherous
Hello! Just for clarification... I just started the Hornet up after some time and noticed that the time for alignment takes way longer then before... at least it feels like this. Was this changed with an update or is my feeling wrong and it always took the same amount of time? Thank you! i7-14700KF 5.6GHz Water Cooled /// ZOTAC RTX 4070 TI Super 16GB /// 32GB RAM DDR5 /// Win11 /// SSDs only DCS - XP12 - MSFS2020
Sharkku
It's been updated to be more realistic. Use the "STD HDG" (stored heading) button on the HSI page to cut the time from something like 8 minutes to 1,5 min. Provided you haven't moved your jet since it was last started of course. Guzzo
Now it takes approximately 8 minutes. You are right. It has been changed.
Bob_Bushman
Also, after alignment set the knob to IFA and not NAV as before, They introduced INS drift in nav as it is not using gps. i7 8700k @ 4.7, 32GB 2900Mhz, 1080ti, CV1 Virpil MT-50\Delta, MFG Crosswind, Warthog Throttle, Virptil Mongoost-50 throttle. Northstar98
Wait, I know that in GPS it's IFA and without GPS it's positioned to NAV, but have they actually modelled INS drift? I also wonder how you update the INS position like you can in the Viggen and Tomcat. Tholozor
The Hornet's INS does drift without GPS correction. WP or TACAN fixes are possible, just like in the Tomcat. amalahama
Does it now? Drift was not modelled until before this patch, nor navigational fixes were introduced yet
Tholozor
I tested the drift after the INS simulation update came out. TACAN and WP fix also worked as well as a workaround for the non-GPS CV alignment problem prior to that.
