[ED MODEL ISSUE] Lamp Posts - Point Track breaks lock.

Recommended Posts

Harrier Point Track now being lost when a vehicle is moving along a road and passes in front of a lamp post.

This is the same issue no doubt of Mavericks F's locking onto lamp posts.

Please can ED / Razbam resolve to fix one of the bigger issues within the CAS game at the moment, lamposts need to have the code that makes them an asset removed to all targeting systems, even if this means they can be driven through in the short term. It is completely game breaking.

That would be the ED issue, nothing we can do about lamp posts. That problem exists IRL too, the pilots have to account for it and re-evaluate their attack strategy.

Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass.

Aslo "game breaking is a little over dramatic in this instance dont you agree?

W8, you are telling me this happen also irl and it is normal?

so the tgp can predict TGT movement when it goes behind a building, but it is completely armless against lamp posts? No shit! :D

Not really over dramatic at all, it is game breaking for example if you play on competitive PVP server (DDCS) that have human tac commanders that have sent say 12 tanks steamrolling from a nearest farp to Bandar Abbas to capture your airfield and you cannot engage because of lamp posts and you lose your airbase, you lose the game and thus game breaking because you cannot complete a first pass, first strike attack.

Time is of the essence.

This is after all a simulator, and just like IRL losing time in being able to react and neutralize a threat generally means losing lives, thankfully all we do is lose a game, but it does need to be resolved. I do not seem to have the same track issues in the A10C however will check again prior to confirming this encase anything has changed in today's patch.

Lastly how we are in the position that a lamp post has a greater lock algorithm, either through IR or optical for a targeting system over a MBT is hilarious.

PS Elmo just to confirm is this an issue that Razbam are going to pass back to ED as it affects the ability of your product, or as the end user do we need to flag? If so let me know and i'll flag to BN.

After further testing this evening i can confirm on the exact same piece of road, same mission, with 5 T72's inbound to Bandar Abbas (note same for all roads with lamp posts) the F16 and lightening pod was able to track the moving units in point track without the lamp posts breaking lock. So Elmo i hate to be the bearer of bad news but this is very much a Razbam coding issue, as the ED pods are working correctly.
