Its ok what we have now. I use Dora too and it's ok but follow by procedures and will be ok.

Really? The D-9 now does 75 min with 100% thrust - not ok according to the sources. Same for the (maybe, who knows for sure?) missing warm-up time: no rough running, no power loss, no hint on problems at all. Just a sudden "bang" and the engine is dead and frozen. Imho not ok for a simulation.

The sudden engine jam has been fixed internally, in that it shouldnt insta jam now, the water cooled warbirds are set to get the new cooling system after the Mossie is out. I havent seen the Dora be able to run max power for 75 mins without issue, I am looking into issues of running too low of power without plug fowling, it looks like that might not be in.

75min at 100% power, I think fuel tanks will not allow for that.

Acording to DCS D-9 manual, above 7000m 3250rpm is continuous power below, it has 30min limit which is still a lot.

@NineLine: no offence intended, just a hint. It would be fine to hear a problem by the engine sound itself. And to read an advice in the manual how each kind of engine will react on ignoring the upper limits. The sudden jam is fixed and a new water-cooling system coming up: Thank you. (Meanwhile happy hunting with a fast bird)

Ok got that. It is funny that you can run Military Power 75min, then when you fly economy mode engine blows up 🙂

Still i think that engine should survive it but for next flight it would require full engine inspection 🙂

I think the Dora is missing plug fouling, so running a motor in economy its possible you could damage it I suppose, blowing up, I dunno. Its still a weird one as I have flown in economy a lot and not had an issue...

Fly it in MP, SoW for example. Just fly 2700 RPM, very often the Engine just stops after 10 minutes or so.

If possible can you take a look again with 2.7, and if it happens again, send me a new track?

Sure, set it as secondary issue, now we need to focus on 2.7 problems. I will re-test it in 2.7 soon.

Its a long one, he kills me in a fight where i use the new clouds for cover, then we're in a long running chase for about 40 minutes-ish, while i spend a long time getting some distance, and coming back poking shots off.
Eventually we fly into each other as i come back to the english radar site, i restart and then chase starts again, flying into land then after i come back to the radar site after 10-15 minutes in land the engine splutter a few times, then it cuts out as i fly towards the radar from in-land, I bail then quit.

Hope it helps.

I had lots of engine degrading problems just flying around for short periods of time (less than 30 minutes). I thought I was missing something but reading this post reassures my belief.

I also experienced that the MW-50 inst increasing the performance of the plane, seems to be broken?

-If I fly at sea level, leveled in straight line, with or without MW-50, I get the same speed, even MW-50 seems to worsen it by a tiny bit.

I was wrong, not truth, without MW-50 I get 550 km/h, with MW50 600 km/h.

If I dare to touch the radiator flaps, my oil temps rises beyond 130 and the engine is destroyed after 2 or 3 minutes, but that is just my fault I guess, I gotta read the manual regarding Oil temp management.

This is really getting worse and worse in my experience. Might be a bit of bad luck as well, but I had my engine die 3 times yesterday in the span of 2 hours while flying on SoW. I made especially sure to warm up the engine correctly and not overstress it (knowing it is prone to just die now and then). Still it just fails seemingly randomly without any warning prior. This makes the Dora close to unusable in multiplayer.

many here often report stalling the engine at 2700RPM, which seems to cause the error

From my experience, as soon as you go below 2800RPM the probability increases a lot that the engine simply dies, so I fly in principle almost only above 2800-2900 and there are almost no more problems.

which of course should not be the solution...

Don’t fly MP, but was getting a lot of engine failures after circa 10 mins of SP flight, and yes, not at max settings...

Seemed to be linked to overheat, so I now fly the Dora with rad shutters open - except for combat

in combat, I can fight one opponent within the engine life, but a second (red pawn) always seem to result in engine failure
