There is also a Project 636 'Improved Kilo' diesel-electric submarine in the game files from about 2017 (the 877V modified Kilo was implemented and was present at the same time), there's also a Project 775 'Ropucha I' landing ship, which I think came 2017/2018 if I'm not mistaken.

EDIT: The Pr. 636 has been implemented as of 2.7

EDIT 2: The 9M127 model has been implemented with the release of Black Shark 3 and the ZiL-131 tractor with 2.8 (?)

The games been out for at least 10 years (if you consider a10c and ka50 as part of the base). A model that’s 2 years old doesn’t really seem forgotten, or that old to me. Especially when you never see it up close unless you’re trying to inspect it.

I mean, most of the modules have been out since before 2018 too, and while they sometimes get updated, often they don’t for quite a while. (Looking at you F5)

Yeah but in cases where it's an upgrade of something that already exists (like the Vihkr, like the P-500 etc), where the work would seem to be pretty much done, it seems a little odd. I mean, so long as the model is done and the arguments and animations are present and functional it seems to me like it would be a relatively small amount of work to get them in, and yet we don't see them for years. I guess it's a matter of priorities.

The Pr. 636 for instance is fully animated, down to even the hatch for the torpedo tube reloading adaptor.

As for never seeing it up close, mileage definitely varies...

MiG-29K:huh:

Its an "artifact" from the days of Flanker 2.5 - if you look a little further up, you will also see the F-111F there. Both were removed as active entries with Lock-on, but have remained in the code.

I think its a mixed bag I think. For already existing entries like the weapon models, I agree that it seems odd that the old ones haven't been replaced yet, although for the vehicles such as the bus and the Ural 4320-10(not a "Ural-375"), it could be down to missing damage/collision models. For new types(such as the upgraded T-72), there is also the bit about adding them the "inventory" along with their specifications.

Nevertheless all pretty straight forward and doesn't explain why the models remain unused for years, so I think you are right that its just down to priorities.

Remember. I put in the "unofficial" roadmap the list of EDMs not included yet in DCS (I need update them):

https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/english/digital-combat-simulator/dcs-world-2-5/115732-dcs-roadmap-unofficial-no-discussion-here

The Kilo 877 (russia) has included into DCS (but missing firing capabilities and animations). Ropucha LST and Kilo 636 has into EDM but not implement as some RBK bombs, BLU mines and more. The problem has not put into DCS, the problem has implement them realistic. Remember the Scud, not implement by missing Schemes and funtionality, as the V-1 on WW2, incendiary bombs, etc.

That is only a matter of time.

Heatblur showed off an AI A-6 Intruder module on youtube 2 years ago. It looks pretty much finished... 2 years later, nothing...

2 years is nothing. Even ED took them more than 2 years (I believe it was like 4-6 years) for an AI plane.

You better get used to waiting...

Hi All.

Here's one for you,

A while a go I was looking around at whats been changing witin the guts of the sim and I found the model for the P-51B plus some other files for it but no livery files that I can find though, future plans? or abandoned poorer child?, it would be nice as an add-on to the P-51 Module or the "TF-51".

Happy Hunting.

P-51B has been there for several years now. Possibly was added around the time of the original P-51.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
