@6S.Duke,  It sure looks like the wait will be worth it when we finally get the MB-339.

Thanks for keeping the community up to date with progress in 2021.

Here is a quick update on the DCS MB-339: after achieving full damage, hydraulic and electrical simulation, our coding team is working hard to complete the rest of the package - since pretty much needs to be written from scratch in DCS, it is not an easy task... and we'll show you the new functionalities once they are ready.

In the meantime, our art team has improved a number of small details while the external model textures have been remastered for better detail and visual fidelity.529655b739525b0e2cf4bb4ed970e46b.jpgdf1ac5acabf49dc77861625c8bef644e.jpgdfecf04d63f741b83a19d2eb53546510.jpg947036af546a52a06932487750a6482e.jpg765d6816991e88f8d105302c3004a2f5.jpg82bf8bf5408ddf87af81d05e84f3b3d3.jpge6cb0a440e4dd776e3ce7e38597d0d5e.jpg6109bec6bba92cc6c3ef568b19cad999.jpg4f9fdd131a5cba3fdbd590f5945440e3.jpg02db0a5970ee6e6498dd7239d2076a4d.jpgbae8bfbe79f751f46d49bced5b02ba0a.jpg

This is good timing..

I noticed the old MB-339 Mod seems to crash my DCS more often than other planes.   I am fine with this because I know that the official new and improved MB-339 is coming and I have plenty of patience and faith in this latest module.. thanks for the updates!

I would love to see some more shot and/or more news on the M339.
The M339 in the other sim got an update. Do you guys work in both sims parallel or you guys focused  at the moment on ther other sim?
IFE is composed by two teams which work in parallel on both platforms.
News for DCS version are less due to the fact that the development on this platform is more complex

Of course, as soon as we have some interesting stuff. Currently we have three different development branches opened and we are working to close them

great to hear! Its awesome to see what you already done in the other sim and i can't wait to try ou this bird in DCS.
This bird have a special place in my heart, seeing how it develop from a "simply" MOD to a study-sim level Design.

As promised recently, here is an update on the DCS MB.339.
Our DCS development team is working hard on three different branches of MB-339 code and this week we have completed the realization of new loadouts for our aircraft.

The new loadouts allow the MB-339 to perform new tasks such as runway attack and destruction, reconnaissance tank hunts and bombs for shooting training.

The confirmed list of new items is as follows:
- Conformal pod for DEFA 553 30mm cannon
- Conformal por for AN-M3 12.7mm machine guns
- Conformal pod for reconnaisance camera
- Travel pod
- Pylon fuel tank 330L
- Mixed smoke/fuel tank PAN (smoke/fuel)
- LR-25-0 (or AL-25-50) for 50mm rockets SNIA
- 50mm rockets Snia ARF-8/M3 (API/HEI/TP)
- BRD-4-250 for training bombs Mk-76 /MK-106 and 2 50mm rockets
- Mk-76 for BRD without hook, Italian labels
- MK-106 for BRD without hook, Italian labels
- Durandal Bomb-rocket anti-runway
- BAP-100 anti runway munition
- BAT-120 anti armor munition

Some of the items above are shown in the attached pictures.

In addition, we want to share with you a brief video of BAT-100 usage with MB-339 (note that the videos does not represent the final product as it is recorded with a development package which can includes bugs and incomplete 3D model/textures).

Unfortunately, the new Eagle Dynamics policy on additional weapons dictates that is up to their team to include new weapons within DCS World: IndiaFoxtEcho has provided ED with all our source material, including 3D models, ballistic data and configuration files used in our development package.

We are currently unable to provide a forecast of when these new weapons will be implemented within DCS World but we are confident that they will be available on Day 1 of the MB-339 release.

Speaking of dates, we are currently unable to provide a release window for the aircraft: as usual our policy is "it is done when it is done".17f92c3833c2b99f60a36020445e2ff1.jpgcfd9b20bd2a96641536d946afeaf2ca7.jpg829578947ef03beefd6c32af9e17acbe.jpg03de04521447ce09d5730ec673a38588.jpg64d8f856b756c6cdb671deb67530c6dc.jpg0907381f4b6d426b69e07855e788fe70.jpgeee1057276643901cac2edd6f805a7d6.jpg

We are working hard on the DCS MB-339... but with the new cloud system implemented in DCS 2.7 it is difficult not to stop and take some screenshots... so here they are.
This new cloud system of DCS World by Eagle Dynamics is really a big step forward in terms of visual fidelity for the platform, and we could not be happier about it.

We are also working with ED to integrate new weapons into the platform, so that the 339 will be able to perform a variety of tasks apart from flight training.

Unfortunately, we do not have a release date just yet - but as usual we'll do our best to keep you posted.

I came back to DCS, after being away from it for over 5 years.  The MB-339 was the first plane I learned to taxi take off and land consistently with.

This 2nd Generation Italian Canadian, can't wait for the MB339 to be back in DCS where it belongs.

- Sooner the better now that we have reached the 2.7 Clouds Milestone!

I managed to update the Input Joystick default.lua to allow for my X-56 Thumb switch Slider to accurately Toggle Speed Brake On and Off. I hope the same trick works in the New MB-339 or that we will have a few different options for speed brake extend and retract.

{down = iCommandPlaneAirBrake, up = iCommandPlaneAirBrake, name = _('Airbrake Slider OUT/IN'), category = _('Systems')}, -- Airbrake Slider Switch Mod

Cheers.

Very cool screenshots! Some of those liveries looks superb.

One thing that I'm wondering though, is whether it will be possible to change the fuselage/tail numbers for (at least some of) them using the mission editor. For example, in the attached image, there is "6136". Will it be possible for us to change that in part/full (e.g. to "1234" or even just "6137") without needing to create an entire new skin? The reason for asking is with regard to multiplayer. Some aircraft have hard-baked numbers, which make them problematic when you are trying to host a module on a public server, and you want them to be identifiable/distinguishable in some way.

Thanks again for posting the screenshots, @6S.Duke. Very, very nice work.
