You probably know this already anyhow, but here's the wingman of the second MiG-Kill talking about his time flying Mirages in the SAAF. I believe there's also a Q&A on top of part two of this video.

I actually hadn't watched that, good source on the 2nd fight.

I find the TWS indicator an interesting feature...normally TWS explicitly does not give a lock warning in DCS

There are alot of things broken about how TWS works and is detected in DCS in particular in relation to soviet era SAMS...

Like you should get "CW" launch warning from the SA5 in terminal guidance, but not much else. Since the SAMs are using very different modes of guidance. For example the SA-8 can just use optical guidance. But all of this modeled really badly in DCS because the average "player" is just clueless on how it should actually work even at a very high level.

WIP items of the Mirage F1 CE:

  • Autopilot:

o     Implementation of R and G modes.

o    Fixing oscillations in some regimes.

o    Mode logic, failures and tests overhaul.

  • Implementation of S530 F ‘supermatra’.

o    The S530 D used as a placeholder in some AI models will be replaced by the F variant.

  • Full implementation of the intercom (will enable communication with JTAC).
  • Adjust adverse yaw behaviour.
  • Pedal toebrake and control stick animations will be added.
  • Implementation of miscellaneous armament:

o    CC - 420 external cannons.

o    JL100.

o    Etc…

  • Implementation of countermeasures and jamming pods:

o    BARAX.

o    PHIMAT.

  • Radar:

o    BZ short range mode.

o    Different detection ranges and target visibility conditions in IC and HA modes.

o    Radar noise visual appearance in various modes.

o    Elevation control in V1 mode for 7 and 15 nm ranges.

o    Radar slaving of the IR missiles’ seekers.

  • Optical Sight:

o    Radar related symbology logic - relative velocity, range, correct display sequence with the radar tracking a target.

o    Gun sight is not correctly fed by the radar measured target distance yet.

  • RWR:

o    Addition of specific F1 RWR sounds.

  • New pilot 3D model with new helmet, 3 variants.
  • Improved external model textures.
  • Cockpit panels texture overhaul (dark cockpit) due to game lighting.
  • Option to adjust the speed of the fuel selection dial.
  • The Flight Manual has to be completed.
  • New missions will be added over time.

Main known issues of the Mirage F1 CE:

  • Wrong number of flares at mission start (14 instead of 15).
  • Jettison of CLB4 bombs when infinite munitions are on does not stop bombs from respawning.
  • R530 jettison should eject the pylon too.
  • Clickable sounds for the shock-cones and high sensitivity nose wheel steering not audible.
  • Control stick switches sounds not playing.
  • First preset radio channel is tied in both radios in ME.
  • Some liveries are inaccurate.
  • AI flight model is underperforming.

We are aware of other issues that we will solve over time.

Please, can you give us some news about ALT1 and ALT2 failures ?

Because it's happening well outside of the manual's chart.

If it isn't a bug we need more details about how to avoid it ?

Yeah. This is a pretty massive bug that pretty much eliminates the jet's high(ish) altitude interception/CAP ability. The more details we get about this, the better.

Yes main two major issues are alternators failure and oversensitive engine shut off because of wake turbulence (a nightmare to take off in multiplayer).

Good WIP items list though.

Radar slaving of the IR missiles’ seekers.

With regard to this which missile seekers will actually slavable? Were the 550 seeker or the juli actually capable of this? The 9b and 9j weren't AFAIK.

J didnt have SEAM afaik being derived from the E not the navy models. Even the P4 didnt. It was specifically included on the P5.

As for the 550 IDK, I've heard that it didnt but it's pretty nebulous. And the know how was there by that point. So IDK.

Most likely contender is the Juli.

Also consider the TACAN and the MISS dials not working.

It's very annoying as the TACAN morse code cannot be shut-off while the Missiles tone cannot be turned on in cold and dark.

Best luck for the work on the Mirage !

I found one ref that states the magic2 added radar pointing capability to the seeker. So maybe the magic 1 (550) shouldnt have it. It would also be nice if the 550 got fixed to be rear aspect only as well. As that's still bugged.

with the addition of the JL100 are we also going to be seeing the other variants of the hybrid fuel weapon pylons? I think we can find lots of utility in these, especially the bomb rack variants.

The JK200 is a fictional item (it says in your picture), but the TK500 is completely real and I'd love to have it.

Can you make this a pinned and locked post in your forum section where only you can write? It is somewhat burried here and hard to find.

If you create a separate locked post with a list on what you are working currently we are able to check before posting bugs or something.

Thank you!

Good work on most of the fixes, It seems like the FM got changed too, seems more jittery right around transsonic.

Also, IDK if you guys caught it in testing but the F1 can now get stupid fast diving from high alt. Like 1100kt at near sea level... Pretty sure the plane should break doing that, or the engine.
