Danielle
Hi guys, I have core i9 9900K and RTX 3090, I am thinking of getting Quest 2 to fly F/A-18C, what fps should I expect at 90Hz and PD 1.7 the native resolution with Quest 2? Does anyone know the FPS numbers with 3090 or 3080 GPU and similar CPU to mine? I would like to wait for G2 but here in Canada we won't be getting it for some time and the Quest 2 is the only headset I can get right now. Or would you recommend Reverb G1 instead the quest 2? BTW, on original HTC vive I currently get 70-80+ FPS when flying low - including over cities. I am worried that the quest 2 will be struggling to get 45 fps. Thx. speed-of-heat
lets star with Turn down your PD .... you are trying to drive 12,562,483 pixels !!!! compared to the native resolution of the G1 thats like 50% more! i would expect 45fps with ASW on your current settings, but a lot depends on the rest of those settings AA and shadows will kill you SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware Intel Corei7-12700KF @ 5.1/5.3p & 3.8e GHz, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Dell S2716DG, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO
Danielle
So, I got the quest 2 with link, I am using PD1.2 in Oculus Device Settings 4128x2096@80Hz, render width 3664 and 500mps compression using the Oculus Debug Tool. In steam VR I have 120% resolution settings and SS enabled, I disabled the smooth motion setting in SteamVR. In ODT I have AWS on auto. I consistently get 80 FPS in F/A-18C with large viewing distance in DCS textures on high, rest are standard VR settings. I am stoked! The picture clarity is awesome. When playing multiplayer, AWS kicks in and I am at 40 FPS, definitely playable. Will try playing with AWS ODT setting and set it to 45FPS setting to see if I can get the extra FPS as a baseline. I must say I am impressed with Quest 2, still plan to get the G2 one day, but for now this is a great headset for the money.
whitav8
Tried both the G2 and the Q2 - Q2 is better for edge to edge clarity for me! (Reverb G1 is about the same as Q2 ) PC HW 9700K@5.0Ghz Win 10 (Build 2004 ) with WMR VR - Reverb RTX2070 with Nvidia 451.48 DCS 2.5.6 (latest)
