Dear all,

due to the sheer amount of content of voice lines that had to be added up until last minute, we unfortunately did not manage to include it in today's patch. Our apologies for that. But we did manage to complete it, and since we promised it, here it is. (Download attachement below.)

We recommend to wait until after today's (dec 17) open beta patch to play it.

Please note that after inclusion into the module with the next patch, you will likely have to start the included version from start - in case you prefer to wait. However you can always finish the downloaded one first/ at the same time.

We sincerely hope you enjoy it!

 

 

 

 

EDIT: THE CAMPAIGN + HOTFIXES HAVE BEEN INCLUDED WITH THE LAST PATCH.

I see, it just changed, thank you. Well, I will leave it up, in case it does not get pulled anymore. In any case I recommend to wait with it until after the patch. (It will be the same version of the campaign either way.)

Fantastic!  Thank you Heatblur.  Where exactly do you install it?  Here: D:\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F14\Missions\Campaigns, or here:  D:\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\campaigns?

They both work, however I would recommend to put it actually in a third place: c\username\saved games\dcs openbeta\missions\campaign\en - like this it stays untouched even after an update, both former folders would get content swiped during an update, means, you would have to move it in and out again prior and after an update to keep it. In saved games it will remain untouched. 🙂

 

If you put it in saved games, you can then access it via the "my campaigns" tab in the campaign section.

Since there'll be a SC Stennis, some time, you've got time and won't have to change a thing. 🙂

Personally, I wouldn't mind at all, and at least we'll have a really nice looking live carrier. The vanilla Stennis looks really bland once you are using the SC module 🙂.

We'll think about it. However: in general a campaign evolves around a story around a certain ship, later, it will be the forrestal maybe, so that won't have a super carrier version either, as it defeats the purpose of telling a story around an older carrier, etc... As said, we will offer SC content, but please don't expect that every campaign will have a SC version. When applicable, or the story allows it, but in the end I care much more about telling a good story, and the campaign needs to follow that. In this case the story was chosen around the Stennis, because the Forrestal wasn't ready yet and so that everyone can enjoy it. I can't say more to not spoil anything, but when you play the campaign, you'll see. In this case I think I might wait till the SC Stennis is available.

In the future we might also offer more campaigns that are supercarrier only, etc... In the end, what matters is telling good and unique stories that are fun. In hindsight of that, I can promise you, that you won't miss the supercarrier too much hopefully. In the PG campaign, which will be more procedural, it will have a better place, because I intend to let the player spend more time on the boat, etc.. Please also note that the Supercarrier is not our module and us spending extra time on it, is good will towards you guys - which, as you know us, is something we gladly give, but it needs to fit and we need to find time for it. Hope that makes sense. 🙂

Do I understand correctly, that the version you have uploaded here, is not yet coop compatible?

Correct. In the strict sense a campaign isn't really coop compatible anyways, since you have to load the missions 1 by 1 in MP. You can ofc do that already and fly it with a RIO. If you do not want to wait, feel free to simply change lead and wingman from player and AI to client, and fly it like that. That's the only change I will do for COOP. I'll include it before the next patch.
