I ordered myself a CM3 throttle, 200mm extension, Constellation grip, Mongoose base, VPC panel 2 and a few nick nacks on 13 June.

Awaiting Delivery, but arrived at local delivery area as of Thursday. Made it through the large hub (in IL, i think) but apperantly is now held for customs at my local hub for some reason.

Seems the turn around isnt to bad right now, was about a week between steps (order,charge,ship)

I raised a ticket to try and get a replacement magnetic sensor (one stopped working). That was on the 9th of May. They've given me a price and I've accepted it (for 3 sensors and a control board as I plan to design my own joystick base), but they've yet to ship it (claiming brexit is causing a problem with small orders) and I've asked if it can be included in my collective and seat mount instead, but they still haven't got back to me after I've asked multiple times.

For some reasons it was "on hold" on Friday, so it arrived at my home last monday the 5th of July.

This stick also feels SUPERB!

I've not flown with it yet, nor installed in my cockpit - I've got two weeks off work from next week, and going to install it into the cockpit then.

I noticed the VirPil throttle is on backorder - in anyone's experience are things always on backorder or do they sometimes have product in stock? I'd prefer not to tie up nearly $500 without even a rough idea of when I'll receive the item, unless that's just how it is, in which case I'll deal with it.

Yep - Standard Operating Procedure as already mentioned. You are not charged until about a week prior to shipping.

As I said earlier, mine was about a week inbetween. They won't ship anything until it's all done, I ordered about 8 items, you can see mostly what I ordered up a few posts. It shipped out pretty quick considering

That is not typical. 4-6 weeks is. You can be lucky though sometimes.

I (back)ordered a MongoosT-50CM3 on July 23 or so, it arrived here (continental United States) today. Considerably quicker than I expected, and what a remarkable piece of equipment.

 

One idle question that isn't important enough to start a thread on, but once I had the firmware configured, I noticed that while there were only generic axis bindings and no button bindings for the Mi-24, the other aircraft I'm currently learning, the Mirage 2000, had pre-loaded extensive button bindings - landing gear, VHF/UHF, AA weapons modes, radar slewing, airbrakes, autopilot, and so forth, that, upon inspection, were in no need of revision. I usually hate ready-made profiles but this one is awfully good, and about what I would have come up with on my own, but after several tedious hours of experimentation and testing. Is VIRPIL doing DCS aircraft-specific profiles generally, or is the Mirage the only one? I didn't see any for the MiG-19, F-14, Viggen, etc.

 

Anyhow, a fantastic controller, I've only fiddled with it for part of an evening, but so far it's great.

I would assume it's a light slowing, MSFS made pretty much any flight sim item almost impossible to get.

 

But, it also could be efficiency, parts not being delayed as much, a better understanding of large scale fulfillment and shipping as well as not being as far behind due to Covid delays.

 

With their collective apparently selling well (from what I see on forums/discords) I'd imagine their holding their own from a business side of things.

I place my second large order ($1200+) on Oct 28 and it will be here tomorrow or Monday. So 14-17 days total time. It shipped out on the 9th.

Ok 20 minutes after posting that I got an update from DHL and it will be here today Nov 11 so shipping only took 3 days with DHL to Idaho.

I'm happy with that.

Anyone thinking about getting Virpil controls should do it. They are by far the best controls I have used to date. If they were not I would not have place such a large second order and will be placing another order with Control Panel 3 comes out.
