3/9 & 5mil consent

Bagpipe

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Not sure if it's me doing something stupid but when trying to drop CBU-97 I selected 3/9 consent and then changed it to 5 mil.

Problem is the consent type remains 3/9 with either consent type selected i.e. Select 5 Mil and it will still be in 3/9 mode.

TIA for assistance

If you're droping in CCRP it'll always be 3/9. Settings you're reffering to are for CCIP.

Yeah i am dropping in CCIP and selecting 5 mil but it remains on 3/9?

I'll have another look and make sure my profiles are not conflicting or something...

CBUs only use 3/9, 5 mil is not available.

CR release constraints only apply to CCIP. For CCRP the CR release constraint preference has no effect. 3/9 and 5 mil are available for all dumb free fall weapons, CBU, Mk 82, Mk 82 AIR, whatever.

For CCRP the release constraint is pre-set per weapon type e.g. 5 mil for Mk 82, 3/9 for GBU-12.

After some help if possible. Playing with 2 x CBU 87 and 2 x 97. Set IFFCC to 5 mil in CCIP mode, and 5 mil is shown on the HUD in CCIP mode for the 87, but if I select 97 it shows 3/9.

Have switched between 5mil and 3/9 CR modes and this is shown correctly for the 87s, but the 97s stays on 3/9 no matter what I do? Do the 97s default to 3/9 only, and the 87s are selectable?

CBU-97 is not IAM.

Legion, correct the 5 mil constraint is not available for the CBU-97 because it always has a large area of effect due to its design. The rigor of a 5 mil constraint never makes sense. However a CBU-87 can be configured for a very small area of effect which makes constraining to 5 mil sensible.

CCIP-CR & CCRP: 3/9 only

GBU-12

GBU-10

CBU-97

BDU-50LGB

BDU-56LGB

CCRP: 5 mil. CCIP-CR: 5 mil or 3/9 option

Mk 82

Mk 84

BDU-50x (all config except LGB)

BDU-56x (all config except LGB)

Mk 82AIR (all config)

BDU-33

CBU-87

CBU-89

I don't know if it's 100% real to the airplane but the logic is sensible. LGBs and SFW can't be constrained 5 mil in CCIP-CR, everything else is fair game.

Cheers @Frederf. Makes perfect sense.

I was starting to think it was pointless trying to put the 'thread through the eye of the needle' when the result was spreadable chaos back out the other side, but couldn't find anything in the manuals - only quite generic references to CR.
