VR Shaders for IC Pass, Clear Water and Texture fixes

Recommended Posts

Does this mod only work with version 2.5.6.50321 of DCS?  I have just indtalled the clear water version above and all seems fine and it all running smoothly except that when I move my head fore and aft the whole cockpit moves with me.  I just wanted to try it out in the G2.  I am running teh latest beta version of DCS.

Cheers

That’s nothing to do with the mod, you have most likely not centered the headset correctly before you entered dcs...

If you have installed it directly to the directory by hand, your only option is to repair dcs... if you have followed my suggestion in the original post, you can simply uninstall it via OVGME or MODMANFX.

For debugging purposes, removing the model and posteffects folders from the mod solved my issue with the Mi-8 sight. Also the huey having invisible blades and windows.

 Please see this post

Oh I know, no worries 🙂 I'm not too bothered by it, considering a big rendering update is coming I'll reevaluate after 2.7 is here. At least I got some decent performance with that tweak.

With standard version, helicopters rotors are invisible and depending of the lighting the reflections from cockpit (gauges, displays, hud glass and canopy) are pretty exaggerated, someone suffer the same?

Same for me.

Which file affects the reflection on display, hud, canopy etc??

i would suspect rotors would be in blurCompute.fx  and transparency may be an interaction with several files so its difficult to nail down.  Can i suggest you just try the clear water version...

For the Huey, I use this mod. I like the more transparent rotor.

Been using the clearwater version of this for a week or so and haven't had any issues. However, have been playing some of the operation reforger coop F14 missions and noticed two strange effects only visible at night when in the rio seat.
First issue is basically what looks like a tubelight over the pilots head running down the centre of the canopy. Second is the same looking white texture but over the computer input panel in the rio seat in place of what I'm guessing should be a back light effect. Disabling the mod alleviates the issue. I'll try and grab some screenshots to illustrate. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this same issue?

according to @Taz1004 it was simple transparency that was causing the issue read down a bit to see if that works for you

Thanks. Seems to be a similar issue for sure. But can't see the updated hlsl file that's referred to in the post as the fix. Was already using the non blurred nvg fix.

My apologies, you mean in the standard version of the mod, as oppsosed to the clear water version I am using. I reread your descriptions of the mods and it made sense. Thanks I'll give the standard version a try 👍

Update:

Issue resolved using "standard" version of the mod

Oh, that's ood. Let me try the CW version again and clear all the shader cache manually etc.

Edit:

So just tried the clearwater version again and the issue is there, it does not occur using "standard"

Yeah, really great community. Thank you very much for the mod (version).

I just installed the standard mod and it works fine so far, although my FPS gain is minimal as it seems. Started Instant Action Takeoff (Caucasus) on Legay A-10C and had 30 FPS on the runway. After the mod I have 32-33 FPS. My system is a I7-7700K @4.2 GHZ GTX 1080 32 GB RAM. Will test further.

Does anyone know what the best mask size would be for the HP Reverb G2?

EDIT: Performance in flight is much better now. Up to 50 FPS. Huge improvement. Cool! Now I have to get rid of the baked in reflections. They look much worse with this mod.
