VR Shaders for IC Pass, Clear Water and Texture fixes

@Taz1004 Is there anything you can add to this version in a similar fashion to your tweaked version for 2.5.6?

Didn't Kegetys fix this mod for 2.7?

I don't remember exactly what I did but all I did were some texture fixes and I don't think they're needed anymore?

@Taz1004 Yeah, it works fine under 2.7 just wasn't sure if there were further tweaks you could made as per the 2.5.6 version, but you may well be right and they are already included 👍

No absolutely none, as I have said it works just fine, and from the lack of comments I would guess that’s true of most people, the first load is always always painful , it takes an age.

It starts and load load load load but never main menu.

Patience. Start DCS and then go do something else for a while. It needs to recompile the shaders the first time you start the sim with this installed (probably because of the 3D menu scene when using VR), and that can take a long time. We're not just talking 1-2 minutes here, we're talking perhaps 10. Then when you choose an aircraft and try to load a mission it will have to compile some more, which can take another 10+ minutes. The upside is that this only happens a few times, when you choose a new aircraft or terrain. After that the load times go back to normal.

I'm getting IC fail in 2.7OB on bazar/shaders/posteffects/nvd_common.hlsl . I'm only running Sharper Eye Reshade with it but SER alone isn't triggering it.  Only when I add this mod.  Confirmed it's the IC Pass version multiple times and redownloaded 3 times.  Also repaired DCS between downloads.  Can I just delete this specific file from the _MOD folder?

(going straight from dashboard to multiplayer servers, no SP here.)

You can try and see if that works, make sure you do so before you apply the mod, However, are you following the instructions? It will always fail on first compile it should be fine after that.

Ok i will wait, but previous shaders seemed not that long to recompile!!!!

Thanks for the advice Goffik

It’s never intended to, I have seen people assert that it does solve reflections, but, that is never something I have experienced.

Applying this mod with my usual mod manager does not solve the Su25T's crazy glass reflections that were introduced by ED a few patches ago.

I can't speak for IC because I was just looking to clear the Rook reflections.  Any ideas on how to get this working?

I'm assuming you have left the default of

#define ENABLE_SIMPLE_CANOPY  1 // Simplified canopy glass

in the _HMD.hlsl?

2.7

  • Clear Water version of @Kegetys MOD provides clear water (this is especially noticeable near the shore, or in shallow water areas such as the PG map)   DCS VR Shaders mod for 2.7.0.4625 (Clear Water).zip
  • IC Pass Version (Note this may FAIL IC pass the first time round, go back out to windows and restart DCS, and it *may* fail IC if you go into IA or other missions) no dilly dallying straight into multiplayer with you! (this is the least performant version of the mod) DCS VR Shaders mod for 2.7.0.4625 (Clear Water, IC Pass).zipit does however pass the Integrity Check for multiplayer!

Slightly off topic, but i was wondering if these shaders would help users (ie ME) with older GPU''s that somewhat struggle on FPS to squeeze a little more performace out the game "non-VR?"

So that SHOULD be left at default, or it should be changed to something else?

I've left it at default. Given the reflections issue you've quoted I'd try it the opposite of what you currently have it set, I don't have that module to test unfortunately. No idea if it will make a difference but worth a shot.

The SU-25T is included for free in the base game.

Ah yes, you're right. I don't have it installed however. Feel free to see if the change works if you do have it, I'm guessing you're using this mod?
