VR Shaders for IC Pass, Clear Water and Texture fixes

Recommended Posts

note with the latest update the IC pass version seems to work but the clear water does not, the simplex shaders still seems to work

So I guess the question is - is clear water with metashaders commented out more performant than Simplex ? .. and still worth the additional rebuild time ?

Also interested as to why IC pass still works as it still has grass.fx and grass2.fx in metashaders

Haven't had the opportunity to upgrade DCS yet to try it I'm afraid.

no idea. to the last question.  IC Pass is  marginally less performant than simplex when i last tested it:

Simplex Shaders V 2.1

A new variant of Shaders has been released, it is similar (slightly faster)  to my IC pass variant it can be gotten from the link below:

my guess is maybe those files arent actually doing anything and their effect was placebo .. i left them there because they weren't causing an ic fail

@speed-of-heat you know if Simplex Shaders has the Albedo texture supersampling and the mod that makes MFD crisper? That two mods, apart from performance gains, is what i love from Kegetis/Taz/Yours shaders

I'm assuming so as the _HMD.hlsl file still contains the relevant parameters, although I havent actually tried Simplex as yet. Will try this evening based on the bad news re encryption and various performance enhancing mods now being crippled 🙄

Working great for me, almost back to where I was before this last update! Thank you yet again, @speed-of-heat

Of course I'm hearing now that ED are planning to release a patch tomorrow, so we may all be starting over yet again, but hey, the way I think about it, I learn more and more about computers,  graphics cards, etc every time a new version comes out! And here all this time I thought DCS was a flying game, turns out it's a computer engineering class! 😀

I`m just diving into the rabbit hole of tweaking DCS in VR, and found this thread about these shaders. I have tried installing the latest Clear water + IC version (from first post) via OvGME, as well as taking a copy of the bazar folder and copying the contents into the existing bazar dir, neither of which appears to make any difference. I`m guessing the "2.7.7.14727" in the filename means they currently are not working for 2.7.7.15038? If so, thats OK, i`ll wait for an updated version... if they should be working, then I have bigger issues 🙂

Awesome mod at all. I have only one issue: every 3 or 4 minutes i have some interruption, some stutter noticeable also in fpsVR. I have G2 with 3080, 32GB of RAM and and i5 at 4.9Ghz.

I tried also Simplex version and i didn't have this problem.

Cheers

D.

Oh I noticed myself the same but thought it was just me, the graph goes black for glimpse.

Using 3060 and i7

Did you clean out all your shader cache? Maybe something else running in the background? Are you having the stutters in the GPU or CPU frametimes?

The CW and IC Pass versions of the MOD are based upon Kegteys mod, they are (as i have said many time butchery, i literally hack files out of it) ... it if there is a problem if i cant address it by hacking files away, I rely on the kindness of others to find the specific bug, or Kegteys himself.  If you have this problem I suggest you use the simplex version of the mod, it will cost you about .5ms of GPU frame time until Kegetys updates his mod ... thanks

Both. It's not a millisec jitter but for 2 or sec or more, sometime with the popup from stemVR "DCS waiting".

I don't know if you allready did, but try to eliminate potential sources for such issues I would say. Did you close down all the background services you don't need and stop all other applications you don't need? Did you use Process Lasso to dedicate a few cores to DCS and put all other stuff to other cores? Have Lasso open on screen when you run DCS, sort it to CPU usage for example and when the issue appears quickly look at it to see what process is using high CPU at that moment, or just do a straight and level flight on autopilot and put the headset on the desk and look at the desktop mirror besides the process manager, which makes it easier to spot.
