VR Shaders for IC Pass, Clear Water and Texture fixes

@tomeye it should work on 2.7.9  i haven't tested it, nor am i currently maintainingthis mod as i mention in the OP

Hey @speed-of-heat, I saw in the comments of the shader mod you linked that he isn't maintaining the mod anymore either.  I haven't tried his, and your "legacy" 2.7 still works, or at least I don't get any error messages, but will things get updated by you once an update breaks the shaders?  Just need to know if I should start looking for another source once everything breaks.

The mod still works, but performance being utterly terrible with 2.7x (even more with the last two updates), gains are now so small that it might not make any real difference anymore.

TBH, I had enough of this BS with 2.7x. Right now, you either have a unicorn RTX3080 (or equivalent) or you're into stutter fest land.
So, this is it, not going to update this mod any longer.

Got sick of it and went back to version 2.5.6 (much better, also check my other files), and even thinking about going back to 2.5.5, to get best performance.

At the moment , I’m not maintaining it, if simplex breaks I might reconsider it.

As Simplex is no longer being maintained, I have modified @Taz1004's update to Kegetys shaders to be IC compliant, YMMV, etc... 

DCS VR Shaders mod for 2.7.9.17830 (Taz1004, IC Pass).zip

I have not tested it.

Tested both and they work in 2.7.9.18080.  No appreciable performance difference one over the other except re-compile time seems faster with Simplex. I get about 10% FPS boost on my system with these shaders. 

Did not check for IC pass though.

Its me or with today patch last mod iteration does nothing?

@speed-of-heatAny chance you can update this for the recent patch?  Things work pretty well without shader mods these days but I found this one to make things a tad bit smoother without having to wait 15+ minutes for the shaders to compile, and the IC Pass is a must for me. 

Also, where can I find info on what exactly it is people are doing with these shader mods and the files.  I don't like always being heavily dependent on others with stuff like this because I know people eventually lose interest and move on, so I'd like to try and teach myself what exactly is being done so i can take a stab at it.

Unless I am missing something, I haven't seen any real performance difference this go-around without using shaders and, unless something changes, I am happy to keep the shaders stock. Like you said, they seem to break more than anything every patch and lose dev support from time to time. I still follow Speed's guide in terms of other mods and settings (I see you have a comparable system). For example, I think the last thing he mentioned was using Reshade 5.2 and VRToolkit, both of which I am currently utilizing as well.

Yeah no real difference with/without the shaders at the moment. I lost about 5FPS with this update because the shaders don't work anymore.

For most people in VR, 5FPS can be the difference between smooth and stutter-fest. That's a pretty big deal.

Yeah exactly. I lost 5FPS and am not getting it back with the current shaders. They don't seem to do anything except the Albedo.

Am going to test the Simplex now to see if it gets any better..

@speed-of-heat sorry to ask, but due to my work i can´t follow along all the variants, mods or different versions lately. Is there an actual "Clear Water" version, or is ther no need for this anymore with Keytegs actual version? BTW Thanks for keeping us updated and your great work!!!

Hi All,

thanks for the continued interest.

I did these builds for 2 create a version that is IC pass compliant, and create a version that allowed the water to be transparent.  As these niches have been filled by simplex, and Taz's updates to Kegetys, there simply is no reason for me to update them and create further forks in code which will only serve to confuse.

As always if that situation changes i will revaluate my position.
