Are you saying you had a performance problem after 00:00 hrs? If so, sure, your system was possibly checking for updates. Probably better if you had started your own thread to be fair to S-O-H.

I was missunderstood - I wanna help, I dont need help. My performance finnaly is awsome, and I just wanna to share. But looks like I dont exacly know what I set that bootleneck gone. My settings atm:

After the trying of OpenXR in DCS I decided to go back to StemVr  with locked 45fps and better experience and reprojections, on my taste. I was usin VR shaders ICpass version, which worked good for me. But I found out that new shaders coudnt be initialized during a first start, it shows some kind of mistake. Does anyone know if it could be something wrong after the using of OpenComposite or it's just current version of DCS OpenBeta doesn\t work any more with VRshaders?

You should post it on the vrshaders thread but having gone back and forth ita not then opencomposite side.

HI speed-of-heat, thank you very much for this thread.

I do agree that OpenXR's reprojection at 30 fps gives outstanding results. The only badpoint in my case is the "dizzying" effect through WWII planes' propellers (more noticeable on Bf109 and Fw190).

Do you have any suggestion to reduce that effect?

Thanks

I get this in the Apache, when I have MR on.  Turn off MR it goes away, but then you get some weird effects on the 3 - 9 view.

oh the blurring I tend to use this mod

for the 64, maybe @lefuneste01 could do something similar for warbirds?

Only for the plane I own : P51 and fw190d9. I did not fly them too much, I never noticed the same issue than the AH64...

My experience is the shader for a same graphic effect (eg cockpit glass) may be different regarding the vendor of the plane, or even the plane of the same vendor (eg ED). Another example is rotor shader that are not the same for AH64 and Mi24, so the fix for AH64 is not fixing the Mi 24. So similar looking problem, but not one single solution.

Unfortunatelly, I will not purchase with my own money all the planes just to include them in my mod (I'm using the money some put in patreon for that, but it's a very slow process).

Much of it is still useful, the relative cost of various settings hasn't changed much, but, having moved over to openxr, I am unable to maintain it, as no fpsvr to measure against it.

Version 1.2.0 GA#2 of the OpenXR-Toolkit has an option to log fps/frame time to a csv file. From the release notes:

  • Support writing FPS/frame times to a CSV file (saved under %LocalAppData%\OpenXR-Toolkit\stats).

I had seen that, @speed-of-heat can regain his queen of benchmarking crown again 😄

Holy crap, I've just looked at some of mine, it logs the vram usage; my highest so far is 9.7gb - this might put to bed the wild estimations of how much vram is actually being used (not allocated).

mine consistently pops out over 11.2gb. I assume that last bit of vram  is allocated like a buffer of sorts like pre caching or if its system allocated like every other hard disk on the computer. You can never get the full memory usage out of anything - SSD, HDD, VRAM, DRAM, SDRAM....

Admittedly I've only done a couple of quick tests but it should be an accurate measure of vram usage by DCS compare to task manager 🙂

The vram value in the stats file isn't total vram usage, just for the app that's running.
