For all my making (Huey cyclic, collective, rudder and Spitfire control column spad, throttle quadrant) I used MMJoy2 Firmware and Arduino Pro Micro

and you ?

i just program the arduino as a joystick

DCS World amazing joystick mapping capabilities allow me to just assign controls with no problem, no MMJoy2 needed.

That looks like it would be awesome if VR since you'd be looking down the barrel when you moved it around just like IRL.

thats the whole idea!!!

im hoping that i will be able to use my DIY controller in future DCS modules.. like Mi24..  maybe a Ju87 stuka?? or UH60... B17.. on and on..

Checking XY axis.

it works.

also did a test in VR.

IT WORKS.

beyond amazing.

much thanks to ED / TFC / Eagle Dynamics.

this year's update to multiseat multiplayer VR doorgun function has made this possible, and allowed me finally pursue this fun build.

having slight setback..

using the arduino, i find that the potentioments become noisy.

i tried using caps at the arduino analog input to ground..

going to rewire with a Leo Bodnar and see if it has better sensitivity.

its amazing in VR, but the small jitters from the pots are perceiable in VR..

This is the filter integrated into the MMJOY firmware, adjustable for each axis up to 15 levels.

I don't have more info on how it works, undoubtedly a smoothing of the peak on an average of values...

He does the job well better than I can program him. 😉

Awesome stuff. Completly missed this project in this forum category. Glad I found the link via Reddit.

Dont man the doorguns enough to build one myself, but the project idea is simply great.

This is super cool. Any chance you could share reference pictures and measurements you've been working from? Would be helpful for others working on similar setups.

ill find my dimension scratch paper and share it later..

since the default "payload release/missle launch" association did not give much kick in vibration from the default sound of this association, will need to play around with sound editors to custom make a sound file that gives the best kick to he 4x dayton pucks i have installed on this gatling beast...

i need to follow instructions here and edit..
