The Marinefährprahm (MFP), "naval ferry barge", was the largest landing craft operated by Germany's Kriegsmarine during World War II.

It served a variety of roles (transport, minelayer, escort, gunboat) in the Mediterranean, Baltic and Black Seas as well as the English Channel and Norwegian coastal waters. Originally developed for the proposed invasion of England (Operation Sea Lion), the first of these ships was commissioned on 16 April 1941, with approximately 700 being completed by the war's end in May 1945. Allied sources sometimes refer to this class of vessel as a "Flak Lighter" or "F-lighter".

Have fun!

I preparest my aircraft to receive the Iron that will be delivered in the presence of my enemies. Thy ALCM and JDAM they comfort me. Thanks a lot @Hawkeye60 ... looking forward to more WW2 Japanese warships, I intend to use them once the Corsair F-4U cames along 👍

Why don't you upload your Mods to ED File Server? .. it would make them more visible to the community, with tags like IJN, Battleship, etc.

Please, don’t forget about a few destroyers, to flesh out realistic formations ... battleships almost never went without escorts. 👍

Hello @Hawkeye60

I installed the Mod, and I can't get it to show up as German or 3rd Reich ship .. it is not on the list, and on the dcs.log I see this error message:

ERROR   Scripting: [string "C:\Users\Eduardo\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods/tech/WWII KMS Bismark/entry.lua"]:20: attempt to call global 'mount_vfs_sounds_path' (a nil value)

On a positive note, the sounds seem that they would work, as on the log there is indication that the sounders are being loaded:

INFO    SOUND: Added sound path: C:\Users\Eduardo\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods/tech/WWII KMS Bismark/Sounds
INFO    SOUNDER: Loaded 3 sounders.

I will re-download and re-install the Mod, to make sure that it is not a mistake on my part. I'm using the latest Openbeta of DCS.

Best regards,

Eduardo

Hi Eduardo, thanks for confirming this - I have the same problem. Thought it may be a mod conflict (I have hundreds of mods loaded) & still might be? But if you or Hawkeye manage to confirm the issue or fix , would love to have this mod back. Fondly remember this with the HMS Hood as the first mods I used, back in the day 🙂👍

A conflict is unlikely, as I always test new Mods alone, with all others disabled .. using OvGME to ensure this:

We are investigating.

All screens taken in OB, most recent build.

DCS repair is the first thing to try.

I have seen this before.

Works on the creators pc, not anyone else!

Very interesting issue.....and frustrating to say the least.

Thanks for the reports!

FWIW I have the same issue getting the Bismarck to show up. I took a quick look at adding/removing Germany and Third Reich from the lua without any luck.

Anyone been able to work around this issue?

This is on stable - haven't tried OB yet.

In other testing...

Point blank 1-1 battle between the Missouri and the Yamato the Missouri always wins quickly - Yamato magazine appears to go up and she sinks.

Hood (early) versus Yamato the Hood always wins but it is a longer battle and the Hood takes some good damage.

Nothing scientific - just fun play time watching things go boom.

Any work being done to bring the Tirpitz, Scharnhorst, Gneisenau?

🙂

I love big guns, but we also need escort ships for believable missions ... a Fletcher Class destroyer would be nice for use at Normandy (and Marianas when it shows up) 🙂

True, true. Would like to see some civilian shipping also.

But doesn't hurt to ask - Tirpitz could be a skin if not that fussy.
