[Obsolete - Succeeded] Double Guides & Tutorials issue

Earlier: I happen to have some issue displaying the long post, I used pages thinking it was a "horizontal rule", now I'm trying to get rid of them and HTML is playing tricks on me. I got rid of the page breaks and tried many different manual separators (minus signs, or slashes, spoilers, etc), that didn't work, it seemed like page breaks were being added automatically randomly which didn't make sense. I resorted to trying to recreate the page separation which worked fine (split correctly) the first time, but it won't budge now, it seems it's broken and does not respect the page separators anymore, pages are thus split incorrectly producing a messy result. I spent like 3 hours trying to fix it and I can't do it all day long so, I'll be trying as time allows, forum staff might have to look into it what's going on with it.

 

Final update: I decided to declare this thread broken and used a completely different method in a new thread instead.

Yes, please find a solution, please move the older "guides & tutorials" forum into the new section for example... DCS forum main page is already long enough...... (even WITH russian- and language-forum sections collapsed!!!! see below picture...)@NineLine

Oh, I just learned about the collapsability of the main sections, which seems to be remembered on a reload (only thing I tested as of now) so it's saved in a cookie.

 

This thread's going to get a major update soon tho, I do not want to propose things that change this kind of layout that everyone seem to be settled with fine now ofcourse.

Allright. I guess I'm too late now to change thing after the fact, I'll make a new thread for the rest of the things I had on my mind.

 

A larger idea came out of this that exposes more options how to deal with this, give me another day or so before deciding anything, I might be able to finish it today if I'm lucky.

OP Update - I decided in the last minute, weighting pros and cons, to update this topic with the mega post, to perhaps not trash the forum with duplicates. It's probably not that big of a deal for the few posts in this thread to be sort of invalidated, really sorry for the inconvenience, either option isn't perfect.

Update: Looks like I broke the forum's paging system, it won't respect pages anymore, if they were pages, the HTML code for them is "hr" and that sounds like a "horizontal rule" but in this case it's used to make pages I guess, anyway the pages aren't properly separated, I've tried all sorts of things of deleting, cleaning formatitng, pasting into HTML editor and looking at the source code, there's some other thing going in the forum's logic that is interfeering I think. Perhaps this needs to be looked at by admins, Thanks.

 

EDIT3: I decided to make this thread obsolete, I used another method to post in a new thread instead (tho the page feature might still be buggy overall and perhaps needs a look at anyway, for long posts)
