Rain drops going through the cockpit is something, iirc, not related to the mod, even without the mod, the planes are not "rain proof"

And for the white bloom, I dunno what can be done about it. Sorry.

Rain going through the model is unfortunate but the bright white rain needs fixing. Is it possible to use part of this mod to adjust the droplet size only?

I guess we need to contact the maker of this mod...

@pastranario3 Hello, love this mod and would love to use it in the Huey in the latest version of DCS but it turns the rain into bright white streaks. I've had a look at the files but can't see anything that I could change. Could you, if you still visit here and mod for DCS, have a look at why this might not be working? thank you. Toby

I don't understand why ED won't change its rain droplets effect and make it official for all of us? I mean... what stopping them idk, but I would like to know why : (

This mod is by far the best one you could find, it's much much better compared to vanilla droplets and I really love it.

I test and confirm that the brightness is now gone, even though I did mind it so much.

Thank you for your prompt response @pastranario3

Because Ed probably has about two programmers overseeing the entire game elements. It is a bit embarrassing that someone can make such an improvement on a game that is not open source. Imagine if ED folded and people cracked and improved like they have with BMS!!!

Updated to the latest version and fixed the brightness of the rain and other fixes.

Now all we need is working windscreen wipers, not just moving ones.. It's impossible to see anything now in the first mission of Paradise Lost Campaign! In the best possible way, thank you 🙂 This is so realistic now and SO hard! It's like the Dark Souls of helicopter missions..

When using Briefing Room to create missions the rain mod doesn't work but when I create a mission via editor it does. Any way of getting around this?

also, is it possible to get them working in the mirrors? I know it's the 2D image and that likey falls under the monitor version but it would be epic have it added.

I tried this out and im getting no rain droplets at all on my cockpit. I think i installed the files correctly. When i installed them it asked if i wanted to replace 2 files so i did assuming it replaces the default dcs rain files. either way the rain droplets do  not show up

Experiment done:

Observations:

  1. Rain drops can merge.
  2. They do not drift away when the plane is moving.
  3. However, they magically diminish as time goes by.
  4. I am not sure I can change the parameter to make the rain drop flows on the glass.

One more:

Before you ask if it works with the latest OB:

The 2D mode is even more fun:

@pastranario3 how can I have the same effect in VR?

Watched some X-Plane 12 videos -- wish DCS can have the same rain effect. The mod is the closest thing we have.

I find that the latest OB has broken the mod. I am not sure if it happens to other people.
