[DUPLICATE REPORT] AV8B - wheelchocks can't be removed with engine running

As per description, it seems that it's impossible to remove the wheel chocks with engine running. The ground crew responds with 'Unable to comply'.

You have to switch off the engine, then it responds normally.

This is intentional, but it's also stupid as the chock would realistically be removed just before you start to taxi. They are there to keep the aircraft in place considering it's got that stupidly powerful engine.

What you can do if you forgot to remove them and you completed all your checks is to turn on APU, connect ground power and then just turn off engine, remove chocks and turn it back on. Alignment will be stored as with all of your settings

1. this is a known bug

2. it has been reported at least 100 times

3. wheel chocks and ground crew behaviour is an ED thing. Razbam can only activate the feature for Wheel Chocks to be there, but not fix how Ground Crew responds with engine on or off.

4. it has been reported by Razbam to ED and everyone is waiting for a fix.

5. yes i hate it too and sometimes ground crew doesnt remove them even though they say copy, because the Tarawa rubber bands in online session and they just stop all work with a ‚What are you doing‘ (that i did not hear because canopy close at that time already.)

Always very funny if you want to start taxing and she wont move. *press F2* ...

but still better than taking off just to realize you only have Tpod because they stopped rearming 😂

Can someone explain why the feature is activated at all then? Is it because of the carrier? Otherwise it makes no sense to have it active if it's broken, regardless of whether it's ED's fault or RAZBAM's fault.

Ask Razbam...

In the end, it's not a big thing. Just remove the chocks before doing anything else.

No our knowledge this is fixed in internal builds from ED. Marking as DUPLICATE REPORT and moving to RESOLVED.

Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass.

  • RAZBAM_ELMO changed the title to [DUPLICATE REPORT] AV8B - wheelchocks can't be removed with engine running
  • 3 weeks later...

Is it resolved though? - we have had a patch nearly 2 weeks after this post and there is still the same issue?
