VR performance 50% boost...

GTX2660Ti

Wasn't this posted a year or two ago?

edit: since building my new PC I've seen a huge improvement anyway - yesterday, for eg's, in the F-16 I was seeing framerates between minimum 57 and 120+ at treetop level over forests and towns in the Caucasus - and that's the best I ever had by some margin.

Yes got a new rig as well and for the first time I am happy with the performance I get. But to run it decently in VR you need a pc that is way and way above the minimum specs. I get 120 FPS with everything maxed on flat screen and only 45 FPS on average in VR. Settings high for most. Pc 9700k OC’d to 5mhz, 3080, 32 ram.

VR optimization is not on par with 2D.

Same here.  I have a i9-9900K @ 5Ghz, and Nvidia 2080Ti, 64GB Ram, Evo Plus 1TB + Spinner. I cap my frames at 120 since my monitors is 120Hz, and it has no problem holding that maxed out.

With VR, ASW can *usually* hold it at 40FPS, and it'll jump to 80FPS > 30,000' when there's no one around.  But the frames are significantly less.  It was less than that before I turned off mirrors.

I'd love to see this new version in VR, as soon as I can get it working.

Oh, and by the way, that 120hz monitor that I can run at 120FPS ... it's 5120x1440 resolution. I have the 49" Samsung monstrosity.  I don't think DCS can look any better.  I still prefer VR, though.  I've tried dogfighting on the monitor, and I'm way worse.  The 3D perspective is huge  in flight.

It isnt true. If you have Red Dead Redemption 2 - check it how it works on DX and Vulcan. With Vulcan I have 10-20+ FPS more in the same place with NVidia 2080.
