I am not the author of this mod, but, with it in VR you can compensate for some of the limits of FOV enabling you to check six , without breaking your neck for more information: Norbert Siepenkötter / VRNeckSafer · GitLab

I am using it with DCS standalone, the app needs steam VR to run , if you are using a Oculus type headset it wont work unless you run via steam VR

I've followed all the instructions for setting this up, but when I activate either left or right rotation, it moves me way outside of my cockpit and I have to recenter steamvr to get back into the cockpit.  It is doing the yaw rotation at this point, but it's moving out of the cockpit also.  Has anyone else gotten this to work correctly?

there is a bug  with 2.04 try 2.03 , also remember to click the center view button in VRNecksafer  before turning your head in game, ideally this should be on the same button as you use to center the headset in game

Is there a way to have this mod work when looking down? I am finding that I have to really strain my neck when looking down at both sides of the instruments in the F18

I have the same problem with my old neck. I assign the snap left and right to 2 hotas buttons then I find if I press one it rotates my view enough to make looking down at the side instruments a lot easier.

As far as I know, it is only designed to work on steam.

But you might try forcing seated mode in options.

I'd like to add my 2 cents also. 2.07 was working, then I think it was one of the DCS updates that caused it to start jumping around. I tried 2.08 and got the same results. For a while, when I brought my head forward again, I would come back centered on the left MFD. Now I go up and right, out of the cockpit. It is an interesting view but it's hard to fly from there. Num5 gets me centered again but twisting around will put me back outside the cockpit again.

I hope the author can find a fix for 2.09 because other than the translations mod's for the SU33 and SU25 this is the most useful mod I have found.

I've found the fix for my problem. I don't know if it will help everybody but it might help those with the same setup I have, DCS standalone and the Reverb G2.

After resetting my environment in WMR and checking the floor level in the cliff house... plus resetting the setting position in SteamVR I went back into DCS. One thing kept ringing in my head, J2 kept saying to assign the same re-center button on the HOTAS for centering NSVR and DCS. I had already cleared all the setting that made Num5 the re-center button, and since NSVR didn't have the option to use the keyboard to re-center I was confused.

That is until I went into CONTROLS and the UiLayer. I found an item there titled "recenter VR Headset". BINGO. Once I assigned that item and the NSVR reset to the same obscure, out of the way button on the HOTAS I have not had any problems with it. I hit the reset once I am in the cockpit and I haven't had to touch it the rest of the flight.

I've still got the cockpit problem. I was hoping this would fix it, but no luck for me--bummer. Same setup: DCS standalone + Reverb G2. I'm running latest Steam VR and WMR betas with latest DCS open beta and VRNS 2.08.

I re-setup the environment in WMR (seated), checked the floor level in the cliff house, reset the center and recalibrated in SteamVR. I have "recenter VR Headset" in UI layer bound to the same HOTAS buttons I've setup for reset in VRNS. VRNS indicates that it's seeing both the re-center and left/right buttons on the HOTAS, but all I can do is translate up out of the cockpit. I've tried all kinds of combinations of VRNS settings (seated, auto, standing) but nothing seems to work. DCS does reset the view upon pressing the HOTAS reset combo.

Continuing to look for a solution...

When your setting in SteamVR and looking at the grid does NSVR operate correctly?

I'm unable to get it to work either in the house or for the brief periods I'm on the grid during DCS loading (not sure how to get on the grid in general aside from while DCS is loading).

try loading VRNecksafer, after DCS has finished loading... the only time i have had a problem with it recently is when i am fiddling with buttons as i am waiting for DCS to load

I'm the opposite, I'm on the grid and can't find a way to get the Steam house back.

Away for a bit. I did try launching VRNS after DCS is at the main screen. Same behavior: translate up rather than rotate, unfortunately.

BTW: Thanks for all your work on the 3090 + G2 guide. It's been hugely helpful.
