DCS game crashed

Hello to all,

 

game crashed 3 times in the Syria map, 1 time in the Caucasus map.

 

Every time it was different,from but i was in the air. This is the log info.

Sorry, I wasn't specific enough. I need a log showing one of your crash. Please attach the most recent .zip file found in the same Logs folder (example : "dcs.log-20210208-163653.zip" ).

 

These .zip files are only ceated when DCS crashes.

Yes, it seems so. Even though it didn't happen while you were flying, it's a crash. It's from February 6th.

DCS crashed after you disconnected from a multiplayer server. Apparently, the game was trying to create a texture, and failed (Failed assert `false && "failed to create texture").

It looks like a graphics crash, but those can be caused by various issues, such as:

  • bad/damaged/conflicted GPU driver
  • saturated memory or pagefile
  • slow drive access timings

Please ensure you have enough free space in your drives, particularly on the drive your pagefile is stored in (you can determine which drive it is with this "cmd" command: wmic pagefile list /format:list ).

Had a brief look at the DXdiag:

                   Memory: 16384MB RAM
      Available OS Memory: 16304MB RAM
                Page File: 44994MB used, 165MB available

DCS needed more memory, couldn't get any and that's what caused the access violation.

 

You could try to set the pagefile to a reasonable fixed size manually. I assume Windows is handling this at the moment and if it decides to not extend the pagefile you can run out of memory.

Nomak, you need to tidy up your drives. DCS needs the pagefile to be stable, and it needs at the very least something like 16 GB. When your drives are full, Windows reduces the pagefile size, and DCS crashes.

 

Free some space in your fastest drive (SSD or NVMe) and your game should't crash anymore (at least not so often).

All my drives are SSD and unfortunately the way my PC has been set up is that it has only 100gb in C,and i cannot free more for now,it's all windows files and etc. I think on getting another 16gb, would that fix the pagefile issue?

I don't think another 16GB of RAM will solve the pagefile issue. It will only make your crash happen a little bit later.

Come on, Nomak, you really should get a new drive. By the way, I think W10 needs at least a 250 GB C:\ drive.

There's a high chance your Windows recycle bin is full. Try to empty it.

 

To monitor your disk files, use SpaceMonger. Just unzip the file, run SpaceMonger.exe, click "Open" and choose disk C:\. It will show your disk folders and files as squares. The size of a square is proportional to its size.

facing same issue as well ED help/support guys were recommending to do too many different things ( like reinstalling drivers etc)

i did restock whole pc, removed oc on RAM/ CPU
 

once stop getting this error in SP/MP then one can start adding any OC if they want. 

 

remove XMP on RAM as that is main cause.
