Flappie Posted February 8, 2021 Share Posted February 8, 2021 (edited) Sorry, I wasn't specific enough. I need a log showing one of your crash. Please attach the most recent .zip file found in the same Logs folder (example : "dcs.log-20210208-163653.zip" ). These .zip files are only ceated when DCS crashes. Flappie Posted February 8, 2021 Share Posted February 8, 2021 Yes, it seems so. Even though it didn't happen while you were flying, it's a crash. It's from February 6th. DCS crashed after you disconnected from a multiplayer server. Apparently, the game was trying to create a texture, and failed (Failed assert `false && "failed to create texture"). 2021-02-06 14:06:18.053 INFO NET: disconnected: 0 2021-02-06 14:06:18.063 INFO NET: disconnected from server 2021-02-06 14:06:18.937 INFO NET: client has stopped 2021-02-06 14:06:19.008 INFO Dispatcher: Stop 2021-02-06 14:06:19.013 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: Closing current flight data recording... 2021-02-06 14:06:19.133 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: Successfully saved [C:\Users\g_not\Documents\Tacview\Tacview-20210206-144251-DCS-4YA_Syria_Capture_Bases_BLUE_v28D.zip.acmi] 2021-02-06 14:06:19.133 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: End of flight data recorder. 2021-02-06 14:06:24.333 ERROR SOUND: render time = 0.068881s exceeded allowed slice of 0.010000s 2021-02-06 14:06:29.378 ERROR SOUND: render time = 0.013950s exceeded allowed slice of 0.010000s 2021-02-06 14:06:32.666 INFO Config: netview stopped 2021-02-06 14:06:33.396 INFO TERRAIN: lSystem::CleanScenes() 2021-02-06 14:06:33.577 INFO VISUALIZER: StopSimulation 2021-02-06 14:06:33.634 INFO VISUALIZER: Stopped collection of statistic. 2021-02-06 14:06:33.708 ERROR DX11BACKEND: Failed assert `false && "failed to create texture"` at Projects\render\dx11backend_win8\Source\DX11TextureManager.cpp:703 2021-02-06 14:06:33.810 WARNING LOG: 1 duplicate message(s) skipped. 2021-02-06 14:06:33.810 INFO EDCORE: try to write dump information 2021-02-06 14:06:33.815 INFO EDCORE: # -------------- 20210206-140634 -------------- 2021-02-06 14:06:33.817 INFO EDCORE: DCS/2.5.6.60966 (x86_64; Windows NT 10.0.18363) 2021-02-06 14:06:33.818 INFO EDCORE: E:\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\dx11backend.dll 2021-02-06 14:06:33.820 INFO EDCORE: # C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at A346B0F5 00:00000000 2021-02-06 14:06:33.827 INFO EDCORE: SymInit: Symbol-SearchPath: '.;E:\DCS World OpenBeta;E:\DCS World OpenBeta\bin;C:\Windows;C:\Windows\system32;SRV*C:\websymbols*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols;', symOptions: 530, UserName: 'Joro' 2021-02-06 14:06:33.828 INFO EDCORE: OS-Version: 10.0.18363 () 0x300-0x1 2021-02-06 14:06:34.706 INFO EDCORE: 0x000000000000B0F5 (dx11backend): RenderAPI::DX11Renderer::useTesselatorStage + 0x6045 2021-02-06 14:06:34.707 INFO EDCORE: 0x000000000000A941 (dx11backend): RenderAPI::DX11Renderer::useTesselatorStage + 0x5891 2021-02-06 14:06:34.707 INFO EDCORE: 0x00000000000116EF (dx11backend): RenderAPI::DX11Renderer::createFrameBuffer + 0x8F 2021-02-06 14:06:34.707 INFO EDCORE: 0x00000000000F7034 (Visualizer): RenderParserImpl::SetIRSignature + 0x1134 2021-02-06 14:06:34.708 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000164283 (Visualizer): smSceneManager::CreateSceneManager + 0xFC23 2021-02-06 14:06:34.708 INFO EDCORE: 0x000000000015E4D9 (Visualizer): smSceneManager::CreateSceneManager + 0x9E79 2021-02-06 14:06:34.708 INFO EDCORE: 0x00000000007C2830 (DCS): CoreUtils::TempFilesManager::operator= + 0x3D4C80 2021-02-06 14:06:34.708 INFO EDCORE: 0x00000000007ABD5F (DCS): CoreUtils::TempFilesManager::operator= + 0x3BE1AF 2021-02-06 14:06:34.709 INFO EDCORE: 0x000000000011797A (edCore): Common::FSM::sendOutputSymbol_ + 0x4A 2021-02-06 14:06:34.709 INFO EDCORE: 0x00000000001177D3 (edCore): Common::FSM::onSymbol_ + 0x183 2021-02-06 14:06:34.709 INFO EDCORE: 0x00000000007BFC25 (DCS): CoreUtils::TempFilesManager::operator= + 0x3D2075 2021-02-06 14:06:34.709 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000790A04 (DCS): CoreUtils::TempFilesManager::operator= + 0x3A2E54 2021-02-06 14:06:34.709 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000790DC9 (DCS): CoreUtils::TempFilesManager::operator= + 0x3A3219 2021-02-06 14:06:34.710 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000001904FF3 (DCS): AmdPowerXpressRequestHighPerformance + 0xC96FEF 2021-02-06 14:06:34.710 INFO EDCORE: 0x000000000098580E (DCS): CoreUtils::TempFilesManager::operator= + 0x597C5E 2021-02-06 14:06:34.710 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000017C24 (KERNEL32): BaseThreadInitThunk + 0x14 2021-02-06 14:06:34.710 INFO EDCORE: 0x000000000006D4D1 (ntdll): RtlUserThreadStart + 0x21 2021-02-06 14:06:35.189 INFO EDCORE: Minidump created. fudabidu Posted February 10, 2021 Share Posted February 10, 2021 Had a brief look at the DXdiag: Memory: 16384MB RAM Available OS Memory: 16304MB RAM Page File: 44994MB used, 165MB available DCS needed more memory, couldn't get any and that's what caused the access violation. You could try to set the pagefile to a reasonable fixed size manually. I assume Windows is handling this at the moment and if it decides to not extend the pagefile you can run out of memory. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Flappie Posted February 10, 2021 Share Posted February 10, 2021 (edited) 3 hours ago, fudabidu said: Had a brief look at the DXdiag Nice find! I missed that part! Nomak, you need to tidy up your drives. DCS needs the pagefile to be stable, and it needs at the very least something like 16 GB. When your drives are full, Windows reduces the pagefile size, and DCS crashes. Free some space in your fastest drive (SSD or NVMe) and your game should't crash anymore (at least not so often). Nomak Posted February 11, 2021 Author Share Posted February 11, 2021 All my drives are SSD and unfortunately the way my PC has been set up is that it has only 100gb in C,and i cannot free more for now,it's all windows files and etc. I think on getting another 16gb, would that fix the pagefile issue? Flappie Posted February 11, 2021 Share Posted February 11, 2021 (edited) Your dxdiag drives report: Quote ------------------------ Disk & DVD/CD-ROM Drives ------------------------ Drive: Free Space: 5.8 GB Total Space: 99.4 GB File System: NTFS Model: SAMSUNG MZVLB1T0HALR-000L2 Drive: E: Free Space: 14.5 GB Total Space: 876.8 GB File System: NTFS Model: SAMSUNG MZVLB1T0HALR-000L2 Drive: F: Free Space: 35.6 GB Total Space: 1907.7 GB File System: NTFS Model: TOSHIBA DT01ACA200 USB Device I don't think another 16GB of RAM will solve the pagefile issue. It will only make your crash happen a little bit later. Come on, Nomak, you really should get a new drive. By the way, I think W10 needs at least a 250 GB C:\ drive. Nomak Posted February 12, 2021 Author Share Posted February 12, 2021 It is very weird,when i go into folder C, all the files show 69gb,but it shows only 7gb free.So 30gb nearly are hidden in a way and not showing, why is that? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Flappie Posted February 12, 2021 Share Posted February 12, 2021 There's a high chance your Windows recycle bin is full. Try to empty it. To monitor your disk files, use SpaceMonger. Just unzip the file, run SpaceMonger.exe, click "Open" and choose disk C:\. It will show your disk folders and files as squares. The size of a square is proportional to its size. abdullah Posted September 14, 2021 Share Posted September 14, 2021 facing same issue as well ED help/support guys were recommending to do too many different things ( like reinstalling drivers etc) i did restock whole pc, removed oc on RAM/ CPU once stop getting this error in SP/MP then one can start adding any OC if they want. remove XMP on RAM as that is main cause.
