Thought I'd try here before I ask in bugs.  I haven't played for several weeks, tried today, the screen shakes like crazy, & it's unplayable in VR.  The game seems fine in non-VR, & VR without using the headset.   No problem with other VR games.  Anyone one else having a problem?

Have you tested the headset in other applications/games?

I would first check and get updated to latest drivers and latest WMR for Steam VR Beta and also Steam VR Beta.

They have made some improvements for the G2.

If that does not help, then I would try a repair of DCS to rule out anything there.

I checked the small screen when steam VR pops up when starting, under devices say I'm up to date.  Did long repair, still no help.

Is this in menus or in a specific vehicle(s)? Some players noted that the Huey instrument panel has simulated shaking that is uncomfortable for them to view in VR (can be tuned in a vehicle file, IIRC).

The last time I played, had shaking in the splash screens, but game was OK.   Now I get in the game also.  Happens with all modules that I tried.

Had something similar happen to me and this seemed to fix it:  under the settings tab go to environment and then hit clear environment data.

@bobaz your hardware is in your sig, nothing wrong there, settings are crucial in windows, nvidia, steamvr and in game.  Try my 3090 settings, to give you an idea of what you need to do, you may need to drop shadows completely.

without that information trying to work out what’s going wrong, is like playing whack-a-mole...

I checked steam vr settings, & some how my per eye rez changed to 100%.  Now it's playable, but needs some tweaking, & in game also.  I never thought of that cus another new sim by MS was running fine.  So it looks like I found the main problem, but can't get back to playing around with settings for a couple days.

MY system is...Win10, I9 9900K @ 5Mz, 32gb ram, GF 2080ti, 1gb m.2 ssd.  With this new forum, I don't see signature anymore.

Thanks everyone for all the comments.

i think the latest steam drivers will default to 150% if your card is above a specific spec... MSFS uses s adifferent render engine (WMR native) rather than via steam by default...

An issue that I noticed the other day while obsessively adjusting settings:

I use DCS standalone, but I have added standalone to my Steam library so that I can launch it from Steam.  This lets me adjust DCS per app steam vr settings without dcs having to be open.  When I launch dcs using the controller and the steamVR interface it uses my per app settings that are listed under "DCS World" in the steamVR preferences.  If I launch DCS with my mouse from the start menu, or by right clicking steamVR in the taskbar and launching it from there, it launches as "DCS" and ignores my "DCS World" settings.  I found this out by accidentally clicking the little wavy lines button on the controller to bring up the steamVR menu while I had DCS launched.  This could be why some people don't see the results of their steamVR adjustments in game.  SteamVR can have the game under different names depending on how you launch it.

If by shaking you mean your FPS is super low and it is like a slide show.  I had to install the beta Steam VR and the beta Windows mixed reality in Steam to fix that.  Installing the beta's was mention above I see also.

I said shaking, but flickering may be a better description.  Even though I can play now like a slide show, FPS are cut to more than half.  I did reinstall beta Steam VR and the beta Windows mixed reality in Steam, but didn't help.  Something changed for the worst in steam, cus I had no problem several weeks ago.  I'll try to deal with it in a day or two.

Might want to try force DX11 mode in steam.  It's hidden and can only be accessed from the in game steam menu under steam then clicking the mixed reality icon on the bottom left.

Sorry Strongo5, but I'm not finding that, thanks

While in VR use your WMR controler and hit the button that brings up the steam menu.  On the bottom left you will see 3 icons, the third from the left should be the WMR settings page.  From there you have 3 or 4 tabs/menu's to work with and one of those let's you force DX11 mode on, along with more settings for re-projection.

Thanks Strongo5 for your DX11 mode suggestion, seems like it's back to normal.   I get some flicking in the splash screens, but I had that before the major problem.

Well I was a little premature thinking DCS was back to normal.  I'm giving DCS a rest for a while ( possibly ever) till steam or who ever fixes there problems.  G2 & WMR runs great playing the new MS sim, where I'll be spending my time.  I've played DCS for many years, It's a shame how it's been allowed to get so screwed up.
