chumpeagle Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Hello. When I'm moving my target designator around in TWS mode, if I move it up to the top of the VSD it moves the range up to the next setting e.g. if it is set to range 40 it automatically moves it up to 80 and if I slew it to the bottom it moves it down again. Is there a way to have it so the range only changes if I specifically tell it to? I find it is very easy to get lost when it is changing automatically. i7-13700k | nVidia 3080 Ti | 64GB RAM VKB MCG Ultimate stick with old Sidewinder FFB2 as well | Warthog Throttle | TrackIR FC3 | F/A-18C | F-5e | Harrier | KA-50 | Spitfire
GGTharos Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 No, that's how it works in the real thing. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

GGTharos Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 (edited) I think you misunderstood his question. He's talking about the display range change when the cursor bumps the top or bottom of the screen. chumpeagle Posted February 18, 2021 Author Posted February 18, 2021 Thanks @Cmptohocah that is pretty cool anyway, but @GGTharos is correct that my question is about the display range (I'm new to the game so may not be getting all the terms right at the moment). I was hoping to find a way to e.g. keep it at 40 if that is what I have set it to, rather than have it move to 20 if I scroll the TDC to the bottom or to 80 if I move it to the top. i7-13700k | nVidia 3080 Ti | 64GB RAM VKB MCG Ultimate stick with old Sidewinder FFB2 as well | Warthog Throttle | TrackIR FC3 | F/A-18C | F-5e | Harrier | KA-50 | Spitfire
Cmptohocah Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 Yeah looks like I jumped the gun on this one. Cmptohocah=CMPTOHOCAH

The IRL control for the TDC is much harder to bump accidentally. Unfortunately our toy sticks/throttles aren't built with quite the same goals in mind [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
chumpeagle Posted February 23, 2021 Author Posted February 23, 2021 Now I've played a bit more I'm not actually finding it such an issue. I think it was down to the panic of not knowing what I was doing and getting lost in all the things to remember, but now some bits of the game are becoming 2nd nature I'm not getting lost in the TDC anymore. i7-13700k | nVidia 3080 Ti | 64GB RAM VKB MCG Ultimate stick with old Sidewinder FFB2 as well | Warthog Throttle | TrackIR FC3 | F/A-18C | F-5e | Harrier | KA-50 | Spitfire
