Hoggorm Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 Hello, When adjusting the radar elevation up or down it is moving so fast it is difficult to get a precise elevation. When I just barely tap the radar elevation button the radar I always seem to go too far. Is this just how it is or is it my setup and something I can change so that it is more smooth?
QuiGon Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 (edited) Do you have it mapped on an axis or a simple button/key? I have it mapped on an axis (slider on my WH throttle) and it works pretty well. If you have it on an axis as well, you can try to adjust the curves. Papanowel Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 Like you, it's mapped on an axis of my TWCS but it's still very sensitive.
Golo Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 You know there is a thumb wheel on HCU for fine tuning the radar elevation right?
BonerCat Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 There's 2 ways to adjust the radar elevation in the Tomcat 1st: Rough - Radar elevation knob. It will give you all the range of the antenna elevation, but is very sensitive 2nd: Fine - HCU Thumb wheel does fine antenna elevation adjustments, and is what you'll probably want to use majority of the time. It can only adjust a few degrees of elevation tho. It is mapped to one of my HOTAS buttons, but I was only using the antenna elevation button, not the HCU thumb wheel as suggested bu Golo and BonerCat. Using the latter made everything so much better 8 hours ago, Golo said: You know there is a thumb wheel on HCU for fine tuning the radar elevation right? I was not aware, but this helped a lot!
