Goofeyfoot Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 (edited) I have a Thustmaster Joystick and I have been using the buttons on that to run my radios in DCS. I made the horrendous mistake of moving all my Steam files from one drive to another which has pretty much dorked everything, including my Vaicom Pro. I got finally Voice Attack to start up and I also got the Vaicom Pro profile to load. But for some reason, when I use my joystick buttons as PTT for the radio, there is no Vaicom response. It is as though I didn't push the PTT button(s) at all. Where should I be looking to fix this? Parenthetically, I would be real careful about a wholesale move of all of Steam files such as what I did. Many sites say that this is easy to do, and probably it is if you are pretty experienced (I'm not). I found it to be a disaster overall. Just me of course. Thanks. Michael That's a bummer, but just v as Horn says, check that your joystick is still setup in the Voice Attack settings. Hopefully Gary will add more joysticks over time, as I've spent all four of mine. Cheers! PS: Too bad moving got you grief, but it is really easy if one does it right. First make a folder on your new drive with Windows File Explorer. Then in the Steam App, add that folder to your Steam Library, and only then move everything you want to move, within the Steam App. Hope this will help you in the future. PSS: If you moved things through Windows File Explorer, you can do an integrity check in Steam. Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk
Goofeyfoot Posted February 27, 2021 Author Posted February 27, 2021 Guys. Resolved. It was in the joystick settings in Voice Attack. In the "Options" part of that menu they have a drop-down for the number of positions that you want the POV hat to recognize. You can choose 2, 4, 8, etc. from that drop-down. For some unexplained reason, the setting for the drop-down was "None." Don't know how it got that way, but that was the only thing wrong. In fact, every other button worked except the POV for the reason mentioned. Thanks for your help. Michael PS: I agree with MAXsenna's point about how you move the library. He says to move the files. But if you look at what Steam tells you to do, and what many tech articles tell you to do, it is to delete all files in the Steam Library except for three. The net effect of that (at least for me) was: a) I had to rebuild all files from scratch; and (b) the deletion apparently caused unknown issues like the one I had with my joystick. Regards. Michael 1
