jetmanjeff Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 I always fly the f-18 and I've got my gear toggled to the bottom left toggle switch on the throttle. My flaps are bound to the bottom row middle toggle. Just recently, I 've noticed that occasionally, my gear and flaps will go down by themselves, without a switch being hit. I've tried clearing and rebinding the controls, but no luck. I've tried the Saitek program, and everything looks good. Any ideas? AMD Ryzen 7 5800X / 32 GB RAM / Nvidia 1070Ti / windows 10
Oozler Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 (edited) Ensure that it is plugged in to a USB 3.0 port on it's own and not through a hub. Problems may occur in low power conditions. I heard it from a friend Good luck and happy flying! Edited February 28, 2021 by Oozler
Dangerzone Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 Sounds like you're experiencing the not-so-uncommon ghosting issues with the X56. Turning off the lights on the unit may help you out a little as a workaround. Also try a separate/dedicated USB port or an external powered one. Some people have opened up their units and put in ferrite rings that have noticed have helped too. As a last resort option, you could map a 'modifier' to your stick and use the toggle switches with the modifier. This means any ghost inputs wouldn't set your gear or flaps because the modifier wasn't held down. It's a agricultural solution but if all else fails could be worth considering. Also check out X56: has anyone truly fixed the throttle ghosting issue? - Saitek - ED Forums (eagle.ru) for info.
jetmanjeff Posted March 1, 2021 Author Posted March 1, 2021 I changed USB ports and the problem has seemed to have gone away! Thanks all! 2 AMD Ryzen 7 5800X / 32 GB RAM / Nvidia 1070Ti / windows 10
