So I received my Gunfighter MkIII last week and I've been piddling around to see how I'll attach it to my Playseat Air Force chair. One thing I really wanna do is make the stick more firm? It is super easy to move around. This is my first high-end stick, so I watched the video from VKB on how to change them. Can anyone recommend a good place to start? I have spring packs saying 10A, 30A, and 40A so I'm assuming there are 20As on there right now.

Changing springs on the Gunfighter MK III is really easy.

They also include a spring pull tool which is really handy. It is that loop looking thing.

Also note you can add a spring to each axis, where you can have two per axis if needed. This is handy for those using extensions.

Have a look at their video:

Thanks! I fiddled with the springs this morning. I put 30As on the inside, then whatever weight came already installed on the outside. Much better already. I may play with the clutch next.

You are most welcome.

I run the 200mm extension with mine and have one each of the #50 springs one each axis.

Since adding the Ultimate Metal grip, which is a little more weight, I think I am going to go in and maybe add #20 or #30 spring to each axis as well in addition to the #50 that is there, to firm it up just a little.

I hear you. I put just one 50 on each side last night and the feel is super light. Sure beats the WH for flying helos though LOL

Have you tried a 40 and a 20 or 40 and 30 combined yet?

*Edit* I just tried a 50 + 20 and it feels pretty darn good. Still light but just enough tension.

It has been a while since I added the additional spring to each axis but pretty sure I ended up adding a #30 to each axis with the #50 spring.

Still fairly light and working great for me.

I might have to try the 30s just to see. I spent more time tinkering than flying. hahaha

Thanks for this thread!  Adding my personal experience to this chat.

I have a MCG Ultimate on a 10cm extension.  Two springs on each axis - #50 and #30.  The dry clutch is barely engaged and the stick feels like an extension of my body.  I'll also note I went from a side stick setup to a center mounted solution using Predator Mounts.  I can't get over how much of a difference these seemingly small changes made to my flying experience.

I agree. I remember being iffy on buying a VKB setup since my WH still runs great. OMG...what a difference.
