Marcq Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 I guys!! I just built a budget gaming pc with a B450M-HDV R4.0 motherboard, Ryzen 3 3100 cpu and a Radeon RX 580 8gb, I installed the latest driver but they don't do well with DCS, I tried older ones too but same thing, colorful checkerboard or the game does not respond to anything, so I have to ctrl-alt-del. I knew what I was getting in to, judging from reviews of users of AMD GPU's and problem with drivers. I decided to see for my self. First time I use a AMD GPU So which driver are you using? Thanks, Marc..
Raven (Elysian Angel) Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Hmmm I have no idea if this works the same for AMD as it seems to with nVidia (my current graphics card is the first AMD/ATi one since the Radeon 9700Pro), but when I had nVidia cards I noticed recent drivers that were designed for more modern graphics cards didn't seem to work well with cards a few generations old. What I used to do, is stick to the latest driver that was released right before a new generation came out (this worked well unless there was a specific issue that was fixed with a later release). Personally I use the latest stable driver (21.2.1) but I also have a current-gen system. For you, I'm afraid it will take some trial-and-error, which is often quite time-consuming... When you say latest driver, do you mean a Recommended one, or Optional? 21.2.2 and 21.2.3 are Optional. I have tried 21.2.3 myself but my system becomes incredibly unstable with those. So I recommended sticking to the "Recommended" (Stable) releases.
