extreme FPS drop during explosion

I was doing some demo on static buildings, using different bombs. I noticed that during the explosion and the smoke, my FPS seriously tanks. From steady 90s all the way to 20s & 30s, but my GPU isn't really loading up. It all seems to be piling up on my CPU, which is the i7-9700k. Does anyone else have this problem, is there something I can do to make my GPU ( Nvidia RTX 2070 ) do more of the heavy lifting in DCS?

Yes , i am experiencing the same . Even an explosion out of sight will cause severe shot-term stutter .

Does this happen all the time with every explosion or just with the first one?

Because it's not new, the first explosion would always tank my FPS, i guess because the entire explosion graphics/sound... needed to be loaded from SSD/HDD into memory the first time it was needed. The successive ones always had a lot less impact.

Thanks for pointing that out . Now you mention it , it IS the first explosion that causes the stutter . Interesting .
