But it does not seem to have a relation to the frequencies that I set for the different Aircrafts in the Mission Editor on different Airfields

I'm not sure how this works for multiplayer (more than one client aircraft), maybe someone elso could chime in for that.

But for single player I'm sure it is (or at least was) possible to manually set the individual channel requencies by adding these "XXX_RADIO" folders and create a settings.lua in there to set the desired frequencies (see screenshots).

I used this in one of my A-10C II missions as, at least at the time, the channel preset wheel and the radio frequency dials were bugged (they kept switching back to the default DCS values). This was a workaround.

I'm pretty sure that normally, you don't need these folders in your .miz file and you should just use the ingame mission editor menu to set desired frequencies. I can even imagine the frequencies set in the "XXX_RADIO" folders, can interfere with the frequencies set in the ME.

Have you tried to just delete the VHF_RADIO folder from your .miz file and see if it works then? (make sure to backup the original .miz file 😉)

That is a good idea to delete it and see what happens.  The reason I brought this up is that there are AF both in the Normandy and The Channel map that the tower frequencies do not seem to work.  The frequencies exist on the Mission editor map and they are different for each AF but setting those frequencies for each aircraft does not produce any results.   So I was hoping that folder maybe was a step to amend this issue.
