DCS Carrier Air Wing THREE, was created in 2018 by a group of like-minded real world and virtual pilots. The goal is to be a group for virtual pilots looking to achieve highest level of realism (mil-sim "lite"), simulated CQ and cyclic operations, and a training program that is as close to the real thing as possible. Our mission is simple: Interception and destruction of enemy aircraft,  establish and maintain local air superiority, destruction of enemy ships and shore based targets to establish and maintain local sea control.  Our training program rigorously follows the instruction plan for the F/A-18C Hornet, taking the pilot through several tiers of training until combat readiness is achieved.
 

Now accepting newly winged or returning naval aviators to the following squadrons:

✫  VFA-32 "Swordsmen" (Strike/Fighter) - F/A-18 and F-14
✫  VFA-131 "Wildcats" (FRS) - F/A-18

✫ Real to life strike fighter training:  FRTP including FRS, SFARP, TSTA.
✫ Custom ATO, flight currency, and tracking system.
✫ Weekly deployment or training flights availible.
✫ Dynamic real-time greenie board, dryad, weather.
✫ Diverse community with multiple CVWs/task forces!

✫ All materials and procedures are in English.
✫ Have a basic understanding of the DCS F/A-18C Hornet.
✫ Be friendly, open minded to learning and a self-starter!
✫ Be able to participate at least 2 flights per month (1 in 10 days).
✫ Have the Nevada, Persian Gulf maps, as well as Super Carrier.
✫ Have joystick/HOTAS, Track IR and capable system.
✫ Seeking section/division leads, instructors, and mission commanders.
✫ Typical flight times between 22:00 to 03:00 UTC (1700 to 2100 CST)

Streamlined transition for experienced leads or FRS transferable in certain circumstances.

Just wanted to showcase some of the great features of VFA-83 and what you can expect when you join the squadron!  We have a wonderful custom coded flight logging and tracking system for all flights, training, currency and much more!  From this system you'll be able to quickly check in, see what missions are coming up, keep up with your flight currency & training while building up your time in the jet!  All of this in one integrated system, including a full functioning dynamic greenie board we are really proud of this accomplishment!

Full video of a VFA-83 FAM training flight focused on aerobatics, formation, aerial refueling, and high speed flight in formation.  One of the first skills learned is how to be a solid wingman and be in position, where your flight lead expects you.  That's what we were studying on this flight and learning how to control AOA, G and airspeed/altitude.  Great mission and we had a lot of fun.  Don't mind the skins, we got to patch this mission, but we have actually a whole custom set:

The virtual Strike Fighter Squadron 83, VFA-83 Rampagers was created in 2018 by a group of Brazilian friends with the goal of be a squadron for virtual pilots that looks for a place with a high level of realism and with a training program that is as close to the real as possible. Our training program rigorously follows the instruction plan for the F/A-18C Hornet, taking the pilot to the extreme in utilizing his ability, teaching the art of combat, lethality and mutual support.
 

Training progression is a building block approach beginning with "Core Skills," emphasizing skills such as aerobatics, BFM, all-weather intercept, basic surface attack, low altitude tactics and night systems.  Next comes "Mission Skills" where you will learn more in depth subjects such as CAS, SEAD, active air defense, and interdiction.   This will build upon the skills learned during the core phase.  Finally pilots complete their training during "Core Plus" phase where mission skills are honed in more complex sorties combining both air to air and air to ground picture.  Pilots will qualify during this phase as naval aviators completing FLCP and CQ.  Pilots are encouraged to continue training, maintain their flight currencies, and pursue instructor and combat leadership skills.

+ Speak English - We are a international group but all materials and procedures are in English.
+ Know how to fly the F/A-18C Hornet and have full knowledge of its systems.
+ Be able to participate at least twice a week in training as a cadet and completed within 90 days.
+ Have the Caucasian and Persian Golf maps, as well as SuperCarrier.
+ Have joystick/HOTAS, Track IR and system capable of running DCS World.
+ Our scheduled training flight is Tuesday nights between 22:00 UTC and 01:00 UTC and our Squadron Combat Missions at Thursday or Saturday between 22:00 to 01:00 UTC!
