is the autopilot coupling during refuelling will be available on the next F16 updates ?

Why would you do this? That’s dangerous

I am using TARGET and have binded the viper a/p with the following settings:

To activate the O layer I use the red pinky button on the throttle.

edit: can my post moved to the new thread?

Coupled autopilot follows your current route. I think you'd find it hard to refuel doing that!

You do not need AP for refuel. A better coupling-mechanism in DCS would be the better way. Actual it does not feel coupled, just layed on, 1cm ro the left it drops off... then invisible/hard visible lights, no comms, and felt 30 seconds of flying with green light and no fuel flow doe not make it easier 😄

Would also be nice if you do not drop off immediately  if you are just 1kts faster than the tanker.. a little bit of pushing should be possible. But in DCS you drop of instantly...

Any idea how much coupling force and torque the real boom provides? I would be worried that if it grabbed onto the receiving aircraft too tightly, it could easily over stress the boom as the pilot flies out of the green/green zone (or due to wind shear).

Ok, but again, why would you want the Autopilot on during AAR? Very unrealistic

New tech is coming where aircraft can automatically inflight refuel. That also includes the drogue refueling for the Hornet.

New tech is coming to DCS F/A-18C or the 2022 real life version of the Super Bug?

definitely not the DCS F-18, that is tech just being testing IRL now, and the legacy hornet isn't even in service. The dcs F-16 if from ca.2007, so we won't see that added to our F-16 either.

Coupled to ILS? No. It has three options for roll channel (fixed roll angle, heading bug, INS destination) and two options for pitch channel (pitch angle, altitude). That's it.

The real aircraft will be getting it and eventually ED might someday model it, expect something like the SCORPION HELMET in the A-10CII as well someday it is really good tech.

Please quote your reference.

What do you mean “quote my reference”? I’m RAF aircrew and the only way auto pilot is used is by the tanker. And even they will practice without it on just in case of a failure.

Tankers fly with the auto pilot coupled, to give the receiver a smoother flight path of the aircraft
